Now my husband suggests that I get a kitten to help me with my depression. I can hardly keep my basil alive. a KittEn? "It might make you a little happier"
I might lose the kitten in my apt. then what? I might forget to feed or water her. then what?
Okay. here's how I won the argument:
Me: I can hardly keep my plants alive
Him: Cat is different, you won't forget them
Me: I can hardly keep myself alive
Him: Okay, maybe no kitten for you, yet.

How about if hubby took care of feeding and litter and you just got to play with Mr. Kitty?
I'm super-biased though. I believe that cats are a cure-all! :)
Best,

This is a bit like what you (should) do when your kids want a dog.
Kid: I want a dog
Me: Good. I'll give you a potplant, and if it is alive this time next year, you can get a dog.But I didn't think in time and we got a beagle instead. He is now notified and if caught chasing sheep again we will be fined on a sliding scale eventually reaching A$50,000. He's very nice, but a hard dog to keep on the porch.

Yes, well, there is a complication to having hubby take care of daily maintenence- he lives 900 miles away (sniff sniff...) and when he moved, he took felinus maximus (all 12 pounds of her) with him. I mourn them both. I talk to them both on the phone, but hubby was sick of hearing my pining for the cat, and got really excited about me getting a kitten. I think a stuffed kitten and ongoing maintenence of basil and geranium and myself is a good project for me right now.
This is the end of the thread.
