Today I interviewed a doctor to see if I wanted him for my GP. My last GP treated me like a mental patient and it's important to find a new doc who won't be biased in treating me.
I had a list of questions to ask. One of my questions was "knowing that I have a mental illness, if I come to you with a physical complaint, would you treat me as a patient with a physical problem or as a patient with mental problems?"
But before I even had a chance to ask him this question, we were talking about how accessible he is after hours to his patients. He said he is very accessible, then proceeded to say "but I have one patient who calls me frequently and at all hours...but I think she has psychological problems" (he said as he chuckled and smiled). I immediately said, "well, you just answered a question I was going to ask". Then I asked him the question I had prepared. He tried his best to save face, but the interview was already over in my book.
Good thing the consultation was free!

Good for you for being prepared! It takes a long time to find the right fit and it is hard work. Keep going and you'll find the suitable doc.

Man I lucky. I got a real nice GP. I think don't mind me being crazy at all.
