good lemon pound cake recipe?

Posted by JenStar on January 21, 2006, at 16:12:05

hi everyone,
does anyone have a good lemon pound cake recipe? Ideally I'd like it to look/taste like the one at Starbucks, although I'd certainly be happy as long as it looks/tastes yummy.

I was just talking to someone last night about lemon pound cake. I love it.

My mom used to make about the best you can get but I don't have the recipe. If you make one you can send it to :

I have that and it is to die for.

I bet you could leave out the almond extract and sneak in lemon instead. If you want it, I'll post it.

Almond Cream Cheese Pound Cake

1 box Duncan Hines Butter Yellow Cake Mix
1 8 oz cream cheese, softened
4 eggs
1/4 cup vegetable oil
1 tsp. vanilla
1 tsp. almond extract
1/2 cup sugar
1/2 cup water

Whip cream cheese until smooth. Add liquid ingredients, mix until well combined. Add remaining ingredients, mix until smooth. Bake in a greased, floured bundt pan at 350 for 45 min., or until top springs bake when lightly touched. Let cool on a wire rack 20 min. before removing from pan.

I think I'd substitute lemon extract for almond and add about 1/4 cup of poppy seeds.
