I'm doing so well I shouldn't take Risperdal anymore.
The fact is, I don't need it. Not sure if I ever did.
:-)
I think I'm almost a normal person now.

Isn't the fact that you're doing well reason enough to stay on it? Doesn't it mean it's doing it's job?
Have you cleared quitting with your pdoc?

I second Dinah. This is a trap that lots of people fall in to. Psych meds are not like cough syrup--you shouldn't stop taking them as soon as the symptom goes away. Many people have their recovery set back by making such a hasty decision.
TALK TO YOUR PDOC BEFORE YOU DO ANYTHING.
Also, if I remember correctly, isn't pdoc #1 going to be back in January? Didn't you have some internal conflict about her finding out that you are taking Risp? Is this an attempt to prevent that conversation? Think abt it and be honest w/ yourself abt your motives.
BTW, if you need additional motivation...it is almost certain that pdoc1 will see your chart and know that you took Risp and did well on it. In fact, she might be cross at you for stopping it!
We care about you. Please listen to the advice we have for you.
Best,
EE

Do listen to Emily and Dinah, Deneb. They are both wise and experienced and only want what's best for you. Keeping meds ON the list can be something to feel very adult, mature and good about as well, if you think about it. You taking the best care of YOU :-)
Did you see pdoc today? (re: thread over on Eating)
How did that go?

Hi there, Deneb.
I agree with the others here. Also, when does your semester end? You shouldn't change any variables until your finals are over. Unless your doctor thinks otherwise, I think you should continue on the exact same cocktail you've been on at least until the semester is over.

Hi everyone
Thanks for all your concern. Pdoc2 agreed with me to stop the Risperdal so it is OK. I'm just going to hope for the best and be positive. I can't rely on meds for everything.
