I'm whining. Need sympathy. :(

Posted by Emily Elizabeth on October 24, 2005, at 1:43:10

Okay, it is 2:36am. I am working on something that I should have had done 12 hrs ago (at least) for a meeting tomorrow. It is torture. Every word I write gets rewritten anyway. It is painful.

Graduate school is sent by the devil. I'm so sick of being a student and being treated poorly.

I haven't posted much recently, but I have been reading posts. I've been (more) depressed lately. I suppose that is also related to why I'm not done with what I am working on.

I just ate a lot of M and M's. It didn't help me write and now I feel icky. :( Waaaaa! Okay, just needed to get that out of my system.

Best,
EE

P.S. Has anyone else had the new "Mega" M&M's. I like them, but what were they thinking with those colors???

Emily, I hope you're having a good sleep as I write this. I haven't tried the new improved M&Ms, like I need a reason to eat chocolate!!
take care

hi EE,
I'm sorry you're up late working on something that will be reworked anyway! But I bet you are doing GREAT in school...and will make a GREAT T when you're done. :) (You are going to school for psych/etc., right?) I'm sure with your attention to detail and concern about 'getting it right' you will be a joy to any future clients, patients, bosses, editors, etc. :)

I do understand about gorging on candy & junk when up later & tired...and then feeling sick and nasty instead of wired & energized. Actually, thinking about M&M's makes me feel sick NOW! (I like them, but I always eat too many...)

I hope the paper/project turns out well.
take care & get sleep when you can!

(((EE))) You're allowed to "whine" all you want. Going to grad school must be tough, I don't know, I've never gotten that far and I admire you for what you're doing. It will all be so worth it when you're done, and you'll have so much to offer. Post and read when you have time, sounds like right now that's not a commodity.

Will check out the mega's - hadn't heard of them.
Get some sleep, okay?

Sympathy coming your way. School is hard. Even as I help my 6th grader with her homework, I say to myself, I am so HAPPY that I am done with school. Now, I might take an occasional class for "fun" or expand my horizons, but nothing gets graded.

How far along are you on your disseration? Can you see the light at the end of the tunnel?

New M & M's?!? Just what I need. I'm been feasting on an array of various pumpkin tarts, pies, muffins, ice cream ... mmmmm ... the taste of Fall.

Hope you got a good night of sleep.

I H-A-T-E-D grad school. My first year was miserable but for some reason I went back for the second. When it didn't get any better, I quit. My sister left after a year also. A friend of mine, who was clearly the least bright among us (sorry, Matt), had the attitude that he was in it for the piece of paper you get at the end. He didn't let anything bother him, jumped through all the hoops, got the piece of paper, and now teaches at CSU Fresno. I tried to learn everything and had a nervous breakdown. This tells me our system of higher education is f#@$ed up.

Thanks gang!

Your messages really cheered me up. Also, I think that things are looking up with the 2 projects that I was working on. They should be all done w/in a week. These have been huge, long-term VERY stressful things, so when I get done I will be very happy.

Best,
EE
