I quit smoking about 10 months ago. I sometimes think that I did not deal with as much anxiety when I smoked. Does smoking control anxiety?

i know what the docs say but i sure feel better if im real upset after i smoke. i smoke maybe 5 cigs a week?! im weird, i know.

I quit a year and a month ago. Smoking definitely helped my anxiety. Or at least I thought it did. Now I've gained so much weight! I'm trying to keep a positive self image, but its hard when I look in the mirror. I woke up motivated to do something about it. We'll see how it goes.
BTW
The cute guy at work that I have a huge crush on is coming back monday after being on voluntary layoff for the summer. I know that's the 'real' motivator.

It helps you to relax (a depressant) gives you a calming sensation... gets your mind off of thigs (so you think). It gives you "something" else to think about... "up, breath, hold it, hold it, release....yadda yadda yadda... up, breath, one more, one more, hold it, hold it, hold it in..... oh, try to make a smoke ring.... hey some came out of my nose...release all.... now what is bothering me...."
