Not a date or anything as dramatic as all that. But the like only person I've become friends with at work is moving to San Fransico on Tuesday. He called and asked if I wanted to meet him and his wife for drinks. I've been a total hermit lately and its been a long time since I've gone out in public other than work, store, Mom's, ect. So I'm kind of nervous. Oh well, here it goes.

I hope it's fun! Tell us what kinds of drinks and food you ate. Anything tasty that you'd recommend?
I'm sorry your friend is leaving. It's always sad when a friend leaves. I'm hoping you get the opportunity to make some great new friends soon. :)

I did that once and burst into flames when the sunlight hit my skin. What does that mean?

Good for you! My step daughter moved in this month while she looks for a job post-college, and I've been having her chaperone me on trips out of the house. It's made a big difference in my confidence to have someone beside me - who isn't my spouse - to share activities with.
That's a really big deal!

Thanks yall. It was fun... and sad. I've isolated myself almost completely in the last year in order to gain control of my senses. I feel like I had a mid-life crisis or something. This guy and his wife are the first people I've clicked with in all that time. I'm so happy for them though. They're so excited. I told them I'm already planning my first visit. They were like, "Really??? Because we really want you to come! That would be so fun!" I don't know why they like me so much. I'm almost old enough to be both of their mothers. But I've found the younger generation to be much more open-minded and more along the lines of what I believe in. They're not prejudice or homophobic, they don't go along with the flow when it comes to religion and philosophy. The people my age all seem to be the same – and I'm always the outsider. Of course, I know not all people my age are like this. I think just living in the super conservative, good ole' boy, bible belt can be a little over whelming for me sometimes. Not that I have anything against those types of people. That describes pretty much everyone I know and am related to. Its just nice to run into people every once in a while who don't find your beliefs incomprehensible. I hope I can meet more people like them.
