Me too!
I also really like that one where he is giving advice to his young son. Can't remember the name of it though.

I like that one, too. It is called (surprise, surprise) "Father and Son", I think. It's a beautiful song.

It didn't get good reviews, but I like it anyway, Brian Eno's Another Day On Earth.
I think the reviews missed the point. It's a sad and political album in his oblique way. My favourite song on it was described as 'hippie schtick', which would cover Cat Stevens nicely as well.

Yes! I just saw this movie for the first time a couple of months ago! Very funny and good, reminds me of the newer movie called Garden State!

Top 3 favorites -
1. Metallica
2. Madonna
3. Elton JohnThose are the only three I'll spend current concert ticket prices to see live. The rest I'll just listen to their music, but not see them.

Depends on the mood really........
Van Morrison, Into the Mystic
soothes me, but I refuse to listen to it when I really need it.
Sarah McLaughlin, Better than Chocolate
Warms me when I am in love, but of course my love life is in the toilet right now.
Patsy Cline, Crazy
Well that song just says it all doesn't it. Self explanitory title. "I'm Crazy"

I don't like country either :-)
The 'Father and Son' song was used for a Telecom (phone company) advert on tv. Quite a good add actually, won a couple awards.

Its hard for me to pick...
My music tastes vary depending on what mood I'm in (suprise suprise). At the moment...
"Led Zepplin" and "Jack Johnson". The latter one is funny. Heard some of his stuff and thought BORING but it is actually quite nice now that I've listened to it properly. He's actually got a newish song out that is really cheerful. Not the kind of cheerful that is nauseating when you aren't in the mood... Just really nice and quietly cheerful
But in general: Pink Floyd, Headless Chickens, Eminem and / or Dr Dre
:-)

Yeah, and you might have liked Patsy Clyne's 'I Go to Pieces', I think it's called. And what about some of Dusty Springfield. On a wall in Brisbane I saw 'EMBRACE THE ABJECT'. Some of Dusty Springfield is like that. Shameless and wonderful.

Do you remember in Garden State the effect that the Simon and Garfunkel song has? 'The Only Living Boy in New York', I think. And the surprise for me was that when I listened to it away from the movie, something seemed lost.
There's a wonderful song in Donnie Darko. Someone tell me what it is. It absolutely cracks me up when I hear it. Might be called Mad World. Lovely lyrics.Declan

First off I gotta say
MARVIN GAYE MARVIN GAYE MARVIN GAYE!
Then there is always Al Green, Barry White, JAMES BROWN!
Also Chicago, Elton John, Crosby, Stills, Nash, and Young. Neil Young. Led Zeppelin.
The thing is that I'm 23. No one in my age group really gets down to what I'm into. It hurts sometimes that no one is as passionate as I am when everyones hanging out and listening to music...
How could I forget EARTH WIND AND FIRE!

Do you have the Beach Boys CD that is ONLY voice, and no instruments at all ( they don't need'em sometimes their voices are that good. ) I can't listen to it without getting goosebumps!!!

The kind that stirs something deep inside. "Oh Lord Please Don't Let Me Be Misunderstood" is not done better by ANYONE ELSE!

I have felt the same way all my life. I am only 36 and it was uncool to listen to Chicago even for me growing up! I say I you love it, listen to it, just don't listen to the jerks that think you are a little off! lol And yes Earth Wind and FIre are really cool! This weekend I am going to see a local band that plays a lot of 60's hits, I love it! Now keep in mind I was only born in 1969! :) Have fun!

Totally like Garden State! Saw that recently in one of my not so great emotional places and pretty much sobbed from the part where they yell into the quarry on. I mean SOBBED and I saw it in a theatre w/ my mother and step-father. Another classic crazy moment. Very cathartic though and it was that bitter-sweet kinda crying, y'know?

No, I don't but I will soon. Sounds awesome..And my God, Earth Wind and Fire, how could I forget? Prince? Another genius....But, he's solo. I was thinking groups. Solo for sure Marvin Gaye but he's hard for me,like John Lennon(and they were both geniuses and I'm not using that in any casual way, the people I'm describing as such, were/are)cuz their art is kinda tied w/ their senseless, violent, early deaths.
