so our kids could see the original before the new one comes out. I was amazed by my take on the movie as an adult vs. what I remember about it as a kid. It's still a scream!!! I still love Tanner!
My H and I were noticing the beer cans and bottles, McDonald's wrappers (do you remember when Big Macs came in a little paper ring?), clothes, cars, etc. Can you imagine what a fit people would have if coaches today were drinking beer and smoking? It was fun to see something so NOT politically correct!

There was an article in this week's Newsweek (an interview with Billy Bob Thornton) about how they had to tone down the movie because movies now couldn't be as out there as they used to be (I forget how he put it). Which is weird because our TV has gotten so much more "in your face." E.g., South Park. But recently someone recommended that I watch the original because it's a great movie. And now you're confirming that, so maybe I really should. (It just doesn't appeal to me at all. Maybe if I had kids.)
