Technical help needed.....

Posted by rainbowbrite on March 2, 2005, at 14:02:19

OK so how do I prevent addresses being saved in my computer? I know I can delete cookies and files and history, BUT it never all goes away. My friends use my computer alot and I don't want this site visible. Is there a way to set it up so that my computer never saves anything. I also have this problem with my search bar. And will this than always result in new indicaters everywhere.
Thank you
rain

Do a google on 'cloak' to find a cloak service. There are lots available and the service is free.

The sites tell you how cloaks work.

Basically you visit the cloak site (and there will be a record of that)

And from the cloak site you can surf the net and there isn't a record of where you are surfing on your computer - because you are just recorded as spending time on the cloak site - see?

My mistake, you don't want that (that is for something else ;-) )

What you want is an 'internet trail remover'. There should be free programs available on the net. I did a quick search and found a couple but they had a cost. There should also be free ones though, have a look.

Save it to a floppy, and run a virus-scan before you execute it. If it's too big, save it to your hard-drive, and immediately scan it.

If it does, you can restore them by logging on and off:

RB:

It's as simple as clearing your history. Click "tools", "internet options", "clear history".

Hi Ron

I haev tried that but it all stays. For example if I look up a medication it will stay forever in my search menu and for some reason I have a few, unless I go through to erase each search individually. I can get rid of the address after clearing history BUT they come right back after I go to site again, can I prevent that?

Thanks
R.B. Haha I like that :-)
