I was diagnosed as having Panic disorder,GAD, and social anxiety a few years ago.Just recently my new therapist has said i could have bipolar spectrum or bipolar NOS.I was wondering if anyone could tell me what the differences are between being in a state of hypomania or a state of extreme anxiety.I do feel very irritable and uncontrollably physically agitated a lot of the time to differing degrees.

Hello and welcome to Babble :-)

I don't know too much about manic states but my understanding is that they feel pretty good while they last. It is just unfortunate that they are typically followed by a depression...
Hypomanic states are (in my understanding at least) less extreme than true manic states which can go on for days and lead to fairly reckless behaviour.
But yours seem to sound like anxiety to me...
Hopefully someone else will know a bit more...
This is the end of the thread.
