Just to see what hospital I would go to if we decided to go that route. And they started grilling me on my name and address and social security number and why was I asking. Was I this or that or the other.
All I wanted to know was the name of the stupid hospital. It wouldn't seem to me they'd need more than my zip code. Darn new insurance company. The old one had the hospitals they dealt with right on their website under providers, hospitals.
I don't think I'm up to having a breakdown.

geez, it sounds like they made you feel like a criminal. Insurance companies can be so abrasive.

Well, heck, they don't make it easy, ehh? It's not like you'd need a kind voice in the night?? Gooberheads.
Were you eventually able to get an answer to your question so you would know where you might go? In case you decide to go, start a list of things to bring. Organizing helps....well, for me it does. This would be my list:
jammies, robe, slippers
books, magazines (good for giving to fellow patients)
stationary, envelopes, address book
journal
comfy clothes like jeans, sweats, Ts, sweaters
socks, sneaks
undies, etc
photos, without frames
comb, brush, toofbrush, paste
games, etc. you want to donate
good smelling soapsThere's a start...in case you need it.

If I may modify, or rather add a few notes to your wonderful list, Em...
> comfy clothes like [as many polo shirt dresses as you can find]
> [colorful] socks, [bright fuschia] sneaks
> undies, etc [camisoles, not over-the-shoulder-boulder-holder torture devices]
> photos, without frames [don't forget your recently acquired pic of your T]
(((((Dinah))))) - get some much needed rest if you go to the hospital. Take care of yourself and don't hesitate to let others take care of you for a while. You need and deserve the break. You are so special to so many people and we hate to see you hurting so badly. I hope you feel better very soon.Take care,
Laurie

(((Dinah))),
> I don't think I'm up to having a breakdown.
<<< Finally! What a great attitude! Breakdowns are just a big pain in the @$$!
Ask my Dad... He actually still regrets his first breakdown that happened 50 years ago. He and my uncle were building a house and he didn't get to finish it. He just (still) shakes his head. He says it ended up being a very expensive vacation (8 months). My uncle went on to build several houses and was well off ($$$$) in the end. My Dad lives in a section-8 highrise.

Thanks Emmy. I'll print that out. I must confess it'll be hard to be motivated.
Not wanting to gross anyone out or anything, but basic things seem beyond me right now. I can't recall the last time I washed my hair, and even full baths have been a chore sometimes skipped.
Maybe I'd better give the list to my husband.

You might be surprised that a shower would make you feel a smidge better, tho. Still depressed, but in a cleaner container.
Hugs hon. I worked in-patient for a while, if you have questions please Babble mail me.

"over-the-shoulder-boulder-holder" Oh my! I haven't heard that since forever. And back then, the boys who said it had never even seen a "boulder". :-) Smooches to AD.

I think we're going to be able to avoid it, unless some new stressor hits. We've got sessions set up for every day next week, and phone session saturday. And we're making session to session no harm contracts. Husband is aware of what's going on and is watching me.

As long as you are safe,....There's NO place like Om!
No, go take a nice warm shower before Bob installs SmelloVision here. ;-)
Big warm hugs, and cozy terrycloth in your future. Take care sweet lady.
