please say a prayer for me

Posted by alesta on September 13, 2004, at 17:03:23

as if things couldn't get any worse, i woke this morning to hear my boyfriend crying uncontrollably. he told me that he hasn't paid the mortgage in 3 months and that we are going to lose the house. he is our sole economic support right now, and his business is failing, he blows all of the money on drugs. i don't know what to do...i have to start a new job soon, but my car has broken down...he was going to get it repaired for me, as he drove it himself also, but now i see that that is not going to happen. i have no money for anything..so i can't buy the antianxiety meds i need or even food or basic necessities. i look like a skeleton practically right now..i'm afraid of where i'm going to end up..i don't see much hope right now..except to ask for prayers..the more the better..*please*..just please say a quick and heartfelt prayer for me..and things are awful between my boyfriend and i, too, but i don't think i could abandon him..oh, god, why? why does bad stuff always happen to me..it never gets any better..ever..i don't care if i'm happy anymore..i just want to live a life without fear..(i've lived in constant fear for the last 13 years)..that's all i want..and a roof over my head..people who've known me have no idea what i've gone through..they think i've got it made and i just think "if they only knew."

(((alesta))) are you eligible for any temporary aid? Can your doctor give you samples of the anti-anxiety med until you are working?
Have you talked to the car loan company? Many debtors are understanding if you are able to make a payment promise that you know you'll be able to keep.
Do you keep your finances separate from your bf's? That would be a good thing to do.
You already know that you are strong, or you wouldn't have come this far.
take care, pc.

Amy, I will say a prayer for you!!! But just realize that even when things seem like there at rock bottom, there is hope. I have sooo been where u are now. I was married for 14 yrs to a man with BP (and wouldnt get on meds) so, he worked maybe 3-4 months per year. Plus, did drugs also. I had to support us and my daughter by myself for years and it was hard. I would get gas using change from around the house so i could get to work..And I didnt have $ for lunch. I felt like giving up, but I didnt..Then, things turned around for me. I moved, left the ex, and started over. I know God had a plan for me and he does for you too Amy...Please hang on..
Hugs..
Sandy

thanks guys! i think i would be totally losing it right now if it wasn't for this forum..thank god you're here..

thanks for throwing out those ideas,pc:). unforunately most of the options you mentioned aren't available for me, and my doctor, unfortunately, was my mother (she's a nurse practitioner), so no free samples...but thanks for the suggestions! sandy, thanks for your hope-giving words:). i just don't know if my story's going to have a happy ending, though..guess i just have to try and stay positive.. i know there's gotta be a way out of this..honestly i think prayers would be the only thing that might help me..i've seen shows where miracles have happened due to group prayer..i don't know if it's coincidence or not, but it's worth a try..my bf seems to have just given up..he's upstairs sleeping right now..i don't understand it..all he has to do is stay off the drugs, and it's impossible for him..i've suggested everything under the sun to help him, given him tons of support..he won't even try..anyway..how can i motivate him? he is very likeable to people, customers have always just come to him..he hasn't had to put any work into his business..if he just put a little effort into it, things would be fine, but he doesn't see that, he just wants to go borrow money from everyone..if you have any more ideas please throw them out there..i'll be hanging around here today...

thanks again, guys..

take care,
amy:)

Hi Amy,

I'll say a prayer for you tonight too, although I don't have any suggestions right now but I will pray for you.

I don't think God listens to my prayers for myself but maybe he'll listen when I pray for others.

Denise

thanks, denise, thank you *so much* for praying for me!!:) you have no idea how much that means to me right now..that is really, i feel, my only hope, and i'm feeling a bit optimistic that hopefully something good might happen for a change..if this works maybe we can start a "prayer" forum where we respond to different prayer requests..

Amy,

I just said a prayer for you.

I don't know if you've considered looking to your community mental health center for psych meds yet, but they might be able to help some. They can usually provide sample meds to those who are unable to afford them. They might also provide some counseling if you need it (though the quality of therapy can vary greatly in different areas).

You are in my thoughts, and I sincerely hope that you find your way through all of this.

Dee.
