(ahem). The perfect gin martini:
Keep gin in freezer
recommended: Tanqueray 10 or Sapphire Blue
refridgerate Vermouth - Noilly Prat (only - no substitutes)
have garnish prepared - olive, onion, lemon twist; your choice
Put ice in yer shaker. Add the gin. Add the vermouth. Much less than you'd think - kind of like Tabasco.Shake for a minute. Note the "martini sweat" on the outside of a metal shaker.
Shake for one minute more.
Strain martini into the suitable glass; add garnish, and serve.
Rinse and repeat.

but i found it!!! i knew i remembered a similar post about a recipe for a martini on here (does this mean i have a drinking problem if i can remember recipes for drinks on here? uh oh!)
http://www.dr-bob.org/babble/social/20040324/msgs/328675.html
yours may be a better recipe, but this one's a bit more humorous (and also the reason i ALWAYS capitalize GIN now!!! see, i knew there was a reason, thanks for reminding me why!!!)
and, thank you for the perfect recipe.. i'm going to print it out!!!
and tanqueray is my favorite GIN!!! i have a very funny story about it too.. something about buying a very large bottle, my sister and shorty coming for a visit, while i was nursing my sick old man (he's such a baby, i had to stay in bed with him all night rather than entertain my out of town guests) so, they watched a movie, mixed it with mountain dew, and complained the next morning about how bad it tasted.. oh, they have no taste!!!!

I hate to say this (because it is true), but I managed to rationalize my drinking of GIN. It was the best bang for the buck. Fewest calories, highest percentage of alcohol. And if you liked drinking perfume or soap (as others have described GIN?), why then, GIN was choice, if you was serious.
I'm afraid I know a little too much about Martinis.

I have already requested the presence of Zen's company to the movies and Tofrutti was quick to inform me that they, in fact, are pre-engaged. I think there's going to be some rumblin' goin' on. Ha, like Tofu even has a chance!
And anyway, have you ever tasted Zen's muffins? They are the best I've ever had. I believe I'm addicted. So, just try to stop this rolling train...
