Dear All:
I just read the sweetest post by Dinah over on adminstration. I haven't been posting partly because of the recent events here and partly due to personal reasons. I said that I had stopped posting because it didn't feel safe, but that is only partly true. I have a history of message board addiction, mainly on mesaage boards where people fight and argue all the time. It fed my need to be angry and gave me a place to express my rage. Since I am dealing with those things in my therapy and since I don't have as much anger, I am trying not to get sucked into situations that feed the rage. Things are better here now and I am thinking about posting again, but in the meantime I have been lurking. I'll jump in if I think it is good for me and helpful or interesting to all of you and is not in a situation that leads me into unhealthy behaviors on my part. On the personal side, my 17 year old daughter and I where on a weekend trip to visit a college she is interested in attending after she graduates HS. She was driving on the interstate in a rainstorm, hydroplaned, and cracked up her car against the cement median divider thingies. We were very fortunate to escape intact and of course that is all that matters, but we had to deal with it. We were stranded in a small town on Sunday and my husband had to come and get us. The car is fixable, barely, and we will had to decide if we should fix it or let the insurance company total it and buy a new one. Lots going on in my life. Thanks for the kind words, it's good to know I was missed and I'll hang around for a while.

Lucy, I saw that post from Dinah, too. Isn't she a sweetie? I look forward to seeing your posts. This place feels pretty normal now.

Wow. I'm so happy that you and your daughter are safe! Of course, accidents are unsettling and scary by themselves. :(
I'm glad you've decided to continue to post here. I understand internet addiction. I think a lot of us do. This is the first (and only) board I've gotten addicted to, but my husband thinks it's more than enough.
