but who the heck was/is Brio D Chimp? Where do these people come from? Is it all the same person? Why are they so taunting? I find it really disturbing.

careful my friend partly,
you are certainly not thick.
it is growth when we can "feel"...but we cant judge "said poster"s here..
i think the point to this site is to igknowledge we are all at different levels in recovery...
deal with what you can handle...and i must say how wonderful you have been to everyone you post to...you have such a beautiful sole...
do not let others cloud your own recovery..
lvs

Thanks for the advice, my friend. I'm starting to be aware of threads that I best not read. It's like watching the news all the time and getting upset by the troubles in the world.

I'm not having a good day, so I'm definitely overly sensitive at the moment. I'm gonna lay low for a bit.

<<<<< I think there's a lot of wisdom in that, like Nikki said too. I always want to keep it in mind myself, and see more and more the wisdom of it the longer I am here.

This is a general observation, not really confined to your first questions here. Anyway, the ironic thing is, that some of the people involved in whatever "the news" is at a given time may mean very well and/or in actuality be expressing one angle on what board/posting population support means. They may likely be very over-sensitive themselves, such that being thought a negative presence would touch that, and more personally than in the case of seeing threads of a type one dislikes appear on the board. The board with its acceptance and vow to "embrace" all people in their respective, subjective pain is here for all, and all deserve to feel that way.

Which is definitely not to say that *all* behaviors and ways of reacting should be acceptable here, just that those staying in bounds but being part of a "news event" want to feel like their presence here is ok too.

I hope that made any sense! And hope that you feel better soon. :- )

I'm sorry it's difficult here sometimes, but please don't post anything that could lead others to feel accused.

If you have any questions or comments about this or about posting policies in general, or are interested in alternative ways of expressing yourself, please see the FAQ:

http://www.dr-bob.org/babble/faq.html#civil

or redirect a follow-up to Psycho-Babble Administration.

Thanks,

Bob
