my sister is in the ER getting an MRI on the brain

Posted by Jai Narayan on June 5, 2004, at 16:01:23

Okay, I am freaked out. My sister had a black out yesterday for 45 minutes. The CAT SCAN showed a bleed in the brain. She has had a headache all week and felt dizzy.
Now she is getting an MRI to clearly define what could be happening to her.
I know I need to be calm but I'm so worried and nervous. Still waiting for her results.

I hope she's going to be O.K. (nm)

Oh Jai, sweetie.
The waiting is the worst. I'm so sorry this happened, but I'm glad she's getting medical attention. Hang in there, dear, and know that we are there with you in spirit.

I'm praying for you both.

My sister and I are pretty much best friends and when she had a life threatening spinal injury I was petrified. It's true that the waiting is SO hard. I can relate also to how helpless this can make a sibling feel. My thoughts are with you...keep talking about it and get all the support you can.

I wish you and your sister all the best (((Jai)))

With my sister, the story is not over but she does not have a bleed in the brain. Or a tumor.
so we are waiting on anemia and an inner ear infection.

But what about your sister? I love my sisters. I have 4 of them and they are the best.
So what happened to you and your sister and how old are you both....if you don't mind?
Thanks so much for sharing.

Jai,
I'm so sorry that your sister is sick. I pray that the doctors will be able to come to some sort of resolution, and that they can make her well.
You asked how we feel about our sisters. I don't have a sister, but I wish I did. It would have made the eternal battle between me and my brothers much easier to handle; someone else on my team. Then again, perhaps it is better that I was alone.
I think I know what having a sister would be like, in having some very dear friends, one in particular. It is wonderful to have someone close that knows you so well; someone that you are unable to lie to, someone that you trust with your deepest feelings; someone you aren't completely terrified to feel a bit foolish in front of.
I may not have a birth-sister, but my brothers do. I know how I treated them, and maybe that way, I know what it's like to be a sister, if not to have one in my family.
Dee.

I'm glad you have sisters--good ones at that. I had one growing up (still do) but she always hated me and was very mean to me. You can ask anyone in my family, I'm not making this up. For some reason she has never liked me. So, instead, I have two sister-in-laws who are my sisters. It's sad to not be close to my sister, but I've tried hard over the years to be closer to her, but she doesn't want to have anything to do with me. So, be glad if you have a sister you're close to!

Above for Jai..sorry (nm)
