Hey, Dinah!

I think you were the one who suggested journaling a while back. Needless to say, I couldn't do it and probably said, "oh, what an idiotic thing to suggest. Here are several dozen reasons why I can't do that."

Just wanted you to know that I had a crisis earlier, couldn't get through to anyone, and started writing it down, as honestly as I could.

This goes back to the mother thing, but much as it hurts to admit it: you were right, I was wrong, I'm sorry and thank you...

(Honestly, thank you. I probably couldn't do it back then, but this crisis really hit hard, and it was as if it just removed all my ability to suppress it, so I managed to do it today. Start your stopwatches, everyone: Let's see how long the relief lasts.)

I'm glad you're feeling better. Sorry about your crisis. I'm glad you're writing. You are such a good one, so keep it up!
best,
antigua

I'm not sure it was me, but I'm glad it's working for you (and sorry you're feeling so badly). I tend to have a hard time with journaling, actually. I think Babble is my journal. Or sometimes I write letters I don't send. A blank sheet of paper makes my mind go blank in sympathy, I suppose. I do better with the give and take of conversation, real or imaginary. :)

Hope you feel better soon.

Thank you both, and » Dinah

I do better with the conversation, real or imaginary, too, and think I use Babble as a SuperJournal -- not only do I get it out somehow, but I get responses that sometimes sink it. It often takes a while, though.

Ah, the Resistance Factor in Depression. So helpful in our recovery, ain't it?

Racer,

I'm glad you found out writing helps. Share this with your Therapist and see if you get writing assignments. Mine *knows* to encourage this with me when I'm really overwhelmed. (see my post on Psych)

I hope the relief lasts and lasts and lasts. You need some. Medically speaking, how are things?
