i agree. i was thinking the same thing. i still consider myself a newbie. aren't i? i haven't been around long. not that i'm saying that newbies don't deserve a place to hang out and find comfort. but, i'd like to be able to jump in and help them feel welcomed, you know? have a chance to get to know them and let them get to know me, as a transition phase.... hope i'm making myself clear. just a way to jump in and say 'i know what you are feeling. hi, i'm karen. nice to meet you.' type thing. so they don't feel confined to the newbie board. i wouldn't want people to feel they must stay in one place because they are new, and i don't want to feel i can't go someone because i'm not considered new. and that's not really my point either. my point is, even if i have one, that i'm afraid that people are going to feel they aren't welcomed, and that i'm not able to welcome people either.

and besdies, when did this newbie boards start? and how the tofu did i miss it? where the tofu was i? why the tofu was i not informed? i surely wasn't sleeping, but have i been so out of it i somehow missed it? i'm tofu confused. i came here one day and saw it. is there a FAQ about what a newbie is? and if thre is a newbie, does that mean there is an oldie? and an inbetweenie? and what the tofu an i, since we are now handing out labels? TOFU! i'm going back to my studies. but, i always try to make it a point to welcome newbies. perhaps i'm not doing a very good job. i'll be better. maybe i can be the official newbie greeter? yes, yes that's it.. jyl, we can work together, like at walmart and shake hands... want to? we'd make a fine team i think....

I agree, JYL. The concept of a newbie board doesn't make sense to me - if the people keep changing on there, when they are no longer "newbies", how will they ever feel welcome? It just doesn't make any sense to me.

Nor does the "Student" board - what about all of the students who used yahoo addresses to register?

But, anyway...

I guess I'm a newbie too. But this is the board I post most often to and I am not sure I understand the point of it?? Do you go there and ask questions about anything? A FAQ would be good. And the student board makes me feel old and uneducated.

Whoa! I totally missed that too! I guess I'm a newbie, so maybe I should be over there? I've been around for about 4 months now.

Frankly, I have no interest in a newbie board. I'll go take a look at it, but I think what I really want is to interact with everyone.

I'm curious about the goal here, but I'm afraid of reading the admin board, because it always makes me anxious and depressed. Anyone feel like reviewing what happened there?

I think Dr. Bob said you're only a newbie for about a month. There's a link to a list of 'newbies' on the page - you're not on it...guess you're an oldie now, pegasus!!
