Quality of life issues.. drama, drama, drama.

Posted by socialdeviantjeff on April 10, 2004, at 0:51:41

Well, I'm back and my drama's coming with me.

Just a few key points, not the whole situation. First think is the psych issues. I'm going from being suicidally depressed to ok and back again, usually in the same day. Meds help with some things, but not the most important. I'm hypersensetive to drugs and a med change is out for me.

Then the somatic issues. fatigue and muscle pain. the pain doesn't seem as severe as some others I've read but it is enough to severely impact work and kid time. The fatigue is overwhelming. Even doing simple things is overwhelming.

My only doc is a pdoc. I've been seeing him almost a year to no avail. I only work part time. I have no insurance. My pdoc is on trade with my parent's business.

I don't know what to do. I'm going on unpaid medical leave for a couple of weeks. ER docs can't/won't diagnose my problems. I don't suppose I could just walk into a hospital and say, "Admit me." It seems psychologically I'm usually 1-3 steps from going to the psych ward anyway. My physical problems are only getting worse. This is hell on earth and something has to happen soon.

jeff,

things will get better for you soon dear. you are making progress. all of us can tell. sometimes there are bumps. and hills. but, sometimes there are also those times when you coast too. and that time is coming for you very soon my dear.

you said you had fun when you went out, right? make sure to go out again. and spend time with your daughter. try to distract yourself with the things you enjoy, even when you aren't feeling well. distraction helps more than we realize.

i wish i had the answers. i really wish i did. how about a hug instead? (jeff) keep posting. it helps to reread your posts as well. that reaffirms the progress you have made. and you honestly have. just look dear. you'll see it, just as i do! you really are doing beautifully! i'm amazed at your resilience. keep doing what you are and things will come together. i promise.

I quite agree with Karen. Reviewing your posts really helps you put your progress into perspective. One thing that had helped me confirm my own progress has been to chart some individual symptoms over time. Rate your fatigue, your feelings of loneliness, your anger - all the issues that wax and wane from day to day (or hour to hour). It helped me see *objectively* that as miserable as I might feel in a given moment, I have already made a lot of progress.

((jeff)) take it easy on yourself!

Thanks, guys. It can be hard to look at oneself through an objective lense. I have to admit, you and the rest of Pbabble have been a key part of it all. (((Everyone))).
