I've been wearing the same braids since friday.

But I'll bet I have some nice waves when I take them out. :)

Did lots of cleaning, and even made a cake! I'm struggling with the shower thing, though, at the moment. It amazes me how I can go between the worlds yuckiest (no hair brushing, toothbrushing, showering or change of clothes in 3 or 4 days) to the worlds most beauty obsessed (powdered, perfumed, primped to the max spending 90 minutes in the bathroom getting ready)
It can be really hard when even personal hygiene is a struggle.

Dinah, I have to try the braiding idea! I want waves. Actually, I want to get a 3 barrel curling iron because those create really nifty waves.

I did bathe, didn't wash my hair. And the waves didn't turn out well. They start too far down and look rather odd. I wonder why I remember that working when I was young? Maybe my hair was longer.

we always want what we don't have, eh?

i have naturally wavy hair that i wash about twice a week. here's the progression:

day 1: well-defined waves. generally looks ok if i don't touch it after i towel dry.

day 2: frizz city. hair poofs up to unreasonable levels. generally i give up and just put it in a ponytail or something.

day 3: getting tired of the ponytail so i take it out. let hair frizz in psychotic mass around my head.

i've got that finger stuck in an electrical socket look going on this morning. maybe i will wash my hair before easter dinner!

yesterday was active enough - took back the empties, got some beer and food, rode my bike to the beach, played my drum, and made and froze two different meals for the week. today is easter dinner and another beautiful day ... maybe another bike ride?

it seems wrong that i have a sunburn this early in april ...

ps - dinah - the wavy thing with the braids works better if your hair is wet when you braid

I think it's a mercy loophole that slipped it through. The third barrel is there in case the other two miss -- you know, like the old paper bag joke? "Put a double bag over her head in case the first one falls off"? Ouch, that always was a bad one.... ;- )

Careful Tiny...don't hurt yourself with that thing! Jeepers, what we girls do for beauty!

But it's better than ye olde days when we'd sleep on spikey wire rollars! Wow...that hurt. It was like an entire hat of thorns. (no offense to current holiday celebrants please)

Then, the next decade I'd be bent over an ironing board, IRONING my hair straight!

Now that I'm middle aged...I just let it do what it wants, and it's never looked better. Perhaps I should try that with my brain?

Emmy

Hey octo, I have frizz-control issues too. Did you ever see the book "Curly Girl"? It has a whole program to get curls instead of frizz, basically involving lots of conditioner and use of clear styling gel. When I follow it my frizz gets more manageable.

Here's my hair woe. If I let my hair air-dry after washing it looks quite wavy. The problem is I like to shower at night, then I sleep with wet hair, so it gets oddly smashed. I try to revive it with water the next morning, but it resists. I just hate showering in the morning, so mainly I just live with the secret satisfaction that my hair could actually look better than it does. I've got some beauty on reserve for special occasions, see?
