I love that name....something about FAT being fun is so cool.
I hope you all are out there having fun. I'm home having fun thinking about having fun...I'm kind of tired. My feet sting from being on them too long. But my heart and spirit is out there having fun.

Give those tired dogs a footbath, dear.
Happy Fat Tuesday back atcha! I'm tossing you some beads, but there's no need to flash me :-)My big evening consists of group therapy and movie rental. I'm such a dull grownup. I got 'The Missing', starring Cate Blanchett, and 'Swimming Pool', with Charlotte Rampling-- still lovely at 40-whatever.

Uh oh... /Now it's Wednesday. I thought about giving something up, but everyone reminds me I'm not Catholic. It's still a goo dgesture. I'd like to give up my profanity, but who am I kidding? I thought about giving up sex, but doesn't it have to be soemthing you really enjoy? So, maybe I'll give up sex with strangers. But I haven't done that in a while. Hmmmm... Still struggling. I'm absolutely perfect and don't have anything to give up. I could give up posting on Babble, but then the board would shut down entirely. I could give up flirting, but then my life would be a waste for a few weeks. Maybe give up eating! But, I don't have any willpower. So, I could just pretend I gave something up.... Now, that's an idea!!!! But, would that mean I'd go to Hell? I think God understands me and would just laugh in amusement.. *Hopefully*

Happy Ash Wednesday.
For the one who asked, Fat Tuesday is the last day before lent. It is called Mardi Gras in the french speaking world because it was the last day that people could eat meat, or use meat-fat for cooking.
It is also interesting to note that the word carnival comes from the same source. Carn means meat in spanish, and probably latin. Val come from the latin levare, meaning to remove.
I have decided not to have my forehead painted with black ashes tonight, and will otherwise entertain myself. To those who wish to partake in ancient ritual, happy lent. (Ok, it's a bit of an oxymoron, but such is life.
Dee.

English translation of "Mardi Gras", day before Ash Wednesday, which is the onset of the Lent season, leading up to Good Friday, Easter, etc.
This is the end of the thread.
