Between Christmas and meds, I'm worse than broke. I get spasms and shooting pains. My coordination and cognition are shot. I constantly fight off sleep. I wake up at all hours. FYI, I have an ideosyncratic sensitivity to meds.
Well... Today was the first day in a long time I felt pretty godd. My 5 year old daughter had a crisis when she couldn't go to a birthday party for a friend and had to go to one for a cousin due to a scheduling conflict. Whew. I handled it with grace and without going nuts. Even in front of my ex and her new husband. They are also selling their house and moving closer. No more hour commute. Yay! I went to work and was generally upbeat most of the time. I'm getting along with my coworkers better.
I feel that my depression is losing it's edge. My anxiety is still pretty bad and the physical problems are unchanged, but I feel like I'm finally on a positive track. It's an exciting prospect to think that things could actually get better for me. It's an uphill battle but I'm in it for the long haul. As always, I thank the folks on this board for helping me through hard days in the past. I am far from remission, and this board has and will figure a large part in these changes.

Small steps can take us far in the long haul.
It's always good to hear positive progress.
I think we, as a group, sometimes, don't share that (the good news) enough and I'm so happy for your small steps.
Best to you!

Thanks for your encouraging replies. Unfortunately, today wasn't quite as good. I think it may have been because I forgot to take vitamins. Better remember that one. After a taste yesterday I want the whole plate. Anyhow, I'll keep posting, good and bad and inbetween.

sdj,
You know ---- it happens like that. I know when I have a good day - a really good day, I set myself up and if the next isn't as good... well, disappointment sets in. (puttting it mildly)
I believe we are ALL on a continuium. I know sometimes I believe everyone else's life is great and if it isn't, well, they handle it with such grace and ease, while I don't. That's just not the case, really.
We all struggle and we all have good moments, bad moments, inbetween moments, and sometimes, down right horrible moments. It's true for those of us with "issues" and those who profess to have none.
Hang in there and try to handle all moments as best you can and be realistic with your expectaions - that's what I'm trying to learn, too.

Great one...bud! Just keep focused on this day..this hour...this moment. Tomorrow or next week hasn't happened yet, so no need to worry about them. Celebrate the moment...as it turns into one more..:-)
Best,
Jay
