I've not posted to you, so.... hello. I read your addition to my post on med board to Viridis. I am SO glad to find someone (and I know there are many) who benzo's help. I have felt very alone at times, as that class of meds seem to cause such viseral reactions in some. My "buying into" those thoughts and negative comments and a "you'll be sorry" warning caused me to ALMOST miss what works for me and suffer needlessly.
It's just good to know, as is so important to some of us, I'm not ALONE.
Best to you.
Thank you,
Kelly

KellyD,
Hello and thank you for your post. I've lurked the boards since they began and I've seen every kind of benzo basher there is. I've heard every argument. I tell people who freak when they hear that I take benzos daily and will continue to do so that the alternative to benzos for me is death. Sounds dramatic but if the anxiety component of my major depression returns or the insomnia comes back full force for longer than a week I'm outta here! That is how bad things are sans benzos.
I tend to stay out of the benzo wars since I haven't the patience to educate those who refuse to be educated.
I appreciate both posts by you and Viridis.
Keep taking whatever it is that is keeping you here and feeling almost like yourself. Who cares what anyone else thinks?! They don't live our existence.

zenhussy,
I had read some of your posts before and knew I liked the way you think.
Most of the time, I can ignore the bashing, but sometimes... it's more irritating than it should be to me.
When I first "arrived" here, I was looking for SOMEONE to give me something positive to hang on to... Viridis, Mattdds, and Larry Hoover were some of the ones who were so supportive. I am grateful for that. Now, I'm glad to find you are, too!
I do TRY to take the "high road" and try to never bash meds others use with success (or no success, as the case may be). We all have our horror stories. I have difficulty finding where giving out experiences LADENED with awful warnings and making judgements for and about others is helpful.
I wish you continued success from a benzo success story. Thanks for your response.
Kelly
