I suppose I'm saying 'what is a major'? I think maybe in the UK its called 'graduating' from university. That would mean, for example, getting a degree in psycology.

A major is a specialized course of study. For example, someone who graduated from a US college or university would state that they have a major (or specialized degree) in Psychology, Finance, Biology, etc. Before you can graduate, you need to have completed a certain number of classes in that particluar field.

Yeah I get it now! Thanks alot guys.
I was just confused because people were saying they are psycology majors etc and I didnt know how specialised that was and if it was in terms of education or career.
