I owe you a thank you. After reading your post about your recent (and successful) garage sale, my family decided to have one last Saturday. We made a whopping $306! I found the key to getting what you really want is adding 10 to 15% to the amount you want and then let let the customer think they've talked you down. Caviot emptor, or something like that.

Wow, congratulations! $306-- woo hoo! That must translate into lots of satisfied customers, plus the relief of getting that stuff out of your life.
That's exactly what I learned about the pricing. Some folks just insisted on talking me down, no matter if it was a like-new 40 dollar item for 2 dollars. I also thought I might have told them no discounts til 10AM or something, so at least the items would have a chance to sell at original price.
