For me, this is a big step. I finally got on the telephone and made an appt. with a psychotherapist. I hung up the phone several times before actually making the appt. but am relieved that I did it.
I really hope this relationship works out well, and that I can get some much-needed help. I have been wanting to do this for some time but was afraid. Of what, exactly, I don't know, but hallelujah.

If you have a good therapist, you're going to be
SO HAPPY that you finally took this step. I have a wonderful therapist, she always makes me feel so much better...don't back out!

I think it's natural to feel some apprehension in the beginning, but once you get through that I'm sure you'll receive the help you need. I'm happy you were able to make an appt. best of luck-judy

WG,
You may have posted about this somewhere down the line, but being lazy by nature, have you had your appt yet, and if so, how'd it go?
Enquiring minds want to know :)

Hi Greg,
Yes, I did. Thanks for asking. I had my second appt. today and it went so-o-o well. This therapist feels right for me. She wants to focus on my eating disorder first because she feels that it could be causing me to show some of my other symptoms (primarily anxiety). We'll see how it goes.
Hope you are doing well :)

>WG,
Very cool! You know I wish you nothing but the best with this. It's so important to find a doc that you can place your trust in and it seems sometimes like that's getting harder and harder to do. Sounds like you have a good comfort level with this woman. Keep being open, honest, and don't hesitate to tell her if she does anything that makes you uncomfortable.
You're on your way! Keep me up to date, OK?
