The following words are from a dear friend and I find them to be very comforting especially at a time like this when life has become completely unhinged and hurricane-like.
>>...Perhaps we endure more than most, perhaps it seems like it's not worth the pain to continue... but we are so amazingly unique in society.... Ive come to understand that we are NOT the castoffs of a utopian society... we are the empaths in a crumbling fractured jumpcut minute by minute meaningless dystopia.<<--anon.
The universe is testing me with all it has got and I am having a hard time staying upright in this battle.
On another note...anyone happen to know whether or not a passport is required now at the US/Canadian border? With the memorial day wknd on Monday here in USA all offices are closed and I need to know whether or not I need my passport renewed to get up there. I'm thinking post Patriot Act stuff my driver's license and birth cert. won't get me very far.
Mum is in ICU (very sudden) and my passport is three years expired and I've got to get out there a.s.a.p. Of course I'm on West Coast and she's in the Maritimes so 12 hrs of travel time, plane switches, customs and driving just to get from here to there.
Any official documentation info appreciated.
Slipping into the darkness but still somewhat aware that light exists (in moments but not with any continuity),

Dear Alii,
Sorry to hear about your mother. The last time I went to Canada (post 9/11), a driver's license and birth certificate were sufficient.

I'm so sorry about your mother, Alii. I know you've already got so many stressors in your life. I'll be thinking of her, and of you as well.

Thank you ladies for your kind wishes.
Now I've got to set my alarm for 2 a.m. to get up to call out to the Maritimes to reach the doctor on his rounds to find out some real info about mum. The nurse today had some info but I'm going to wait to talk to doc to find out what is what. I am NOT going online to look anything up in my current state. I think that would just push me over the edge.
Thanks Zo-a-natrix for the listen to my ramblins tonight. I appreciate it. You caught me in a calm moment. I'm a bit anxious now and the tears are here again. But you did help illuminate the darkness that I get lost in so easily by reminding me of perspective.
Feel free to use the scorpion stinging and the hugging as you see fit. It fits the passive aggressive bs that took place in my life just the other week.
I don't know what the norms do. I really don't. I would kill for a drink to numb this right now but my meds see fit that that isn't a possibility.
Oh sweet escape somehow you will find me tonight and give me some rest until my early a.m. call.
Apopletic Alii (def. 3--greatly aggitated....I'm not having a stroke yet)
