Big Ball of Blah

Posted by Tabitha on May 3, 2003, at 14:25:27

rainy sunday.. my bobbing sumo wrestlers don't bob very well.. lawn too wet to mow.. watching beastmaster..

And annoyed.. friend is visiting, I asked specifically if it would be just us 2, she said yes, I said I was looking forward to being alone with her, since we've only seen each other in groups for a long time, she agreed, now she's bringing her boyfriend.. I 'agreed', seemed to rude to say I minded if he came.. crud. Not good.

Hi Tabby,
I hate when that happens. It always puts you in a weird place because you don't want to say no, but then it's so disappointing. I had a friend do that the other day--she asked me if I wanted to get together and before I knew it she said "and my friend might be coming along too, is that ok?" I guess we should be able to say no, but I didn't. In fact I made some excuse and bailed completely because of it.

It changes the whole dynamic to get together with a friend and her boyfriend. Not fair, especially since you specifically asked if it would be the 2 of you . Maybe it's one of those deals where she's insecure not having him with her all the time (not that it makes it any better). Sorry Tab. We're waiting on the island for you, looking for tony who's playing hide and go seek.

Hi KL, friend came by herself after all. We had a nice time. I don't think it's her so much as him, not wanting to be away from her ever. So good for her for leaving him behind (I think). Next weekend we're going to double-date. That will be odd for me, the whole possible coupledom experience is still kind of alien.

Speaking of the island, where is that Tony anyway? He's been hiding for way too long. I need me one of those.. what is it he makes so well? Rootbeer floats?

Glad it worked out today for you after all. Isn't it nice when that happens!

So how are things going with *your* date...? ; )
