LOL, JYL!
My Dad is an artist, but put down his charcoal and his pencils and his brushes when he got busy with career and family, etc. So, when he retired, he went back to it. Once a week, he spends an entire day with a group of artists painting live models. Once I came to visit and was in the basement watching TV and noticed there were Playboys on the desk there. You have to know that my Dad is one of the most straight-laced religious people on earth and so it was rather a shock to see the playboys there! But then I saw that they were with all his art equipment. I still chuckled to myself about my Dad becoming a dirty old man in his old age, hehe. But when I looked at the live model drawings, the people were of all sorts of ages, sizes and shapes.
Another time I was visiting, we discovered a whole cache of his old work. I mean really really old--like from high school--with paper so brittle it had to be handled extremely carefully. He was so thrilled to go through the work. He was amazed at what he had been able to do--how skilled he had been back then.
This is the end of the thread.
