Just to say thanks again to everyone who helped me earlier this week. I know that its really important not to put too much hope into having had just one reasonable day, but its been such a wonderful day, not struggling to get through each moment.

fi,
I always try not to hope too much too soon also. Remember, though, that when things do get better for good there always has to be that single first good day of many. Why not today?

Yep, I know about the hope trap, too. But enjoy the good day. Even if tomorrow is not the next good one you have, the next good one will come and the one after that, too. They just don't always come one after the other.

Hi, fi. How's the weather where you are? Does that have much of an effect on you? I'm such a butterfly & hate it. I wish I could be more resilant & not be affected by the weather so much. Give me a few sunny days & the lilt comes back to my steps. I'm not sure if it's the rain & clouds, but I've been totally drained lately - exhausted beyond all reason. We had no winter, little rain & a fair amount of sun, but then March came along setting a record with the least amount of sunshine - clouds & rain. Blechh! I fell asleep on the sofa only an hour after waking up one morning.
Have you got sun where you are?

> hi fi,
> its good to get some possitive feedback....Yes, if there's anyone out there a few days behind me (ie each minute is a struggle), I'm just one real example that it wont necessarily go on for ever, even when you think it will. Not that you instantly recover, but it gets easier in stages.
I particularly like noa's point about good days not necessarily being together, too.
Enjoying every minute that isnt a fight anyway, and very best wishes to anyone else struggling on.

I think weather can have a profound effect on a lot of people- you can see how they brighten up in better weather, and fortunately there have been some really sunny days this week, tho still a chilly wind at times. Just as well, as one of my ways of coping when feeling wretched is walking round the park, to get out of the house. Much nicer in good weather, needless to say, and signs of spring.
It can also seem particularly alienating when you are depressed in beautiul weather, tho - like it cant affect you and you are even more left out. But it helped this time.
I hate those winter days which are grey and cloudy (plus maybe cold/raining) and never really get light. I've been lucky not to be depressed in that kind of weather.
Do hope you get some cheering weather too, soon!
Fi
