My gf has been away on vacation for a week (for a friend's wedding). I was quite surprised to miss her a lot, since I've become so used to having her around. I've learned some good things from this -- like that I can drive on a long car trip to the big city (Chicago) alone without fear. And that I need some more alone time during the day.
But, at the same time, not having my gf around has left me with frayed nerves. Part of it is that I'm not treating myself as well in her absence -- stayed up late with a friend, played computer games all day, etc., instead of following my normal sensible patterns. But a lot of it is just nerves -- people at work have been asking me why I've been blinking a lot, which is something I do under stress.
So here I am, having trouble sleeping, need to get to work at 10am for 10-hour shift, it 's 4 45 am, and I can't fall asleep. I'm having a heart-pounding panic attack, which I haven't had for months.
This is so weird. Does anyone else feel like this when their 'routine' is disrupted?

Disruptions in my routine always cause distress to me. Even great, terrific, positive changes are stressful for me.
How long till she's back?

she'll be home friday. :D
i think part of the problem is that when she's here, i have rewards to follow a regular sleep-wake schedule, which she does naturally. if i go to sleep when she does, i get to cuddle. morningtime, i get up a little earlier to make breakfast for her.
also, around my gf, i feel the need to be a responsible 'grownup.' alone, i'll drink cofee and play computer games all night. then a workday comes and my body clock is screwed up. :D
This is the end of the thread.
