Daddy, Daddy!! Did you have daisy cutter bombs? They are cool and I'm asking those men in that big room for a bunch of those.
Remember Dad, it was just like when you took me and Jeb to get fireworks. You graded us on what we picked, how fast we could shove others away from the cashier, who could talk the firecracker man down on price the best, and who got back to the car the quickest. You taught us to be the best AT ALL COSTS.
Oh, the girls are fine........you want the truth? They're both at Chuy's again and have had 3 huge margarita's in 20 minutes. But they're better than Jeb's girl. She should have been arrested close to ten times but she's our girl so .......yeah, that is a real perk in politics! Ahh ha ha ha ha! I know Dad, she hasn't beaten my record but if she does, I'll have to take the challenge and beat her ass. Wonder if Clinton left any coke around...hmmm.

Hi Phil--
As much as I hate to admit it, a few of my mother's many Southern Lady pronouncements were right, if not original. Talking (or worse, joking) about politics or religion is still the quickest way to lose friends and enrage enemies. Personally, I figure it's not worth the risk unless you get paid for it.

Hi again Phil--
From his use of the term "med-icinal", I suspect that Kid A's post was meant for me, and was intended to support you.
My post to you was intended as a subtle expression of concern; but, by now, you've probably noticed that I manage "subtle" about as often as I do "succinct"--which is almost never. I think I was trying to say that, while I agree wholeheartedly with your estimation of our thankfully former governor, I get nervous when you post about such things here because I don't want to see you get "sent to the sandbox" again. It's cold out there this time of year and it's too hot here without you. And, if I'd been able to say it that way the first time, I wouldn't have the taste of leather in my mouth now ...again.
Think I'll go lie down and wait 'til the impulse to be "helpful" recedes. Take care---medlib
PS Have you even heard of Molly Ivin? I don't know why I assumed that every Austonian reads her column. For that matter, I don't know that she's still in Austin. Maybe she followed her best material to Washington.
