Is This the Prize I've Waited For?

Posted by Phil on December 26, 2002, at 21:04:23

Collective Soul
Run

Are these times contagious
I've never been this bored before
Is this the prize I've waited for
Now with the hours passing
There's nothing left here to insure
I long to find a messenger

Have I got a long way to run
Yeah, I run

Is there a cure among us
From this processed sanity
I weaken with each voice that sings
Now in this world of purchase
I'm going to buy back memories
To awaken some old qualities

Have I got a long way to run
Have I got a long way to run
Yeah, I run
Yeah, I run

Have I got a long way
Have I got a long way
Have I got a long way to run
Have I got a long way to run

Yeah, I run (have I got a long way to run)
Yeah, I run (have I got a long way to run)
Yeah, I run (have I got a long way to run)
Yeah, I run (have I got a long way to run)

Excellent song!!

I often attribute those words (is this the prize I've waited for...) to my life now.

Is this what I worked all my life for? Is this all that there is?

Is there a cure among us? How much longer must I run before I find relief?

Everyday I wonder about all these things...

I don't know, maybe I took this out of context...

When I'm Gone
3 Doors Down

There's another world inside of me
That you may never see
There's secrets in this life
That I can't hide
Somewhere in this darkness
There's a light that I can't find
Maybe it's too far away...
Maybe I'm just blind...

Maybe I'm just blind...

[chorus]
So hold me when I'm here
Love me when I'm wrong
Hold me when I'm scared
And love me when I'm gone
Everything I am
And everything you need
I'll also be the one
You wanted me to be
I'll never let you down
Even if I could
I'd give up everything
If only for your good
So hold me when I'm here
Love me when I'm wrong
You can hold me when I'm scared
You won't always be there
So love me when I'm gone
[end chorus]

Love me when I'm gone...

When your education x-ray
Can not see under my skin
I won't tell you a damn thing
That I could not tell my friends
Roaming through this darkness
I'm alive but I'm alone
Part of me is fighting this
But part of me is gone

[chorus]

Maybe I'm just blind...

[chorus]

Love me when I'm gone...

Love me when I'm gone
When I'm Gone
When I'm Gone
When I'm Gone

It's good to see good music-gotta burn some now!
With the access the internet gives to lyrics, I've looked up a lot of old favorits. It's amazing how dumb some lyrics are but you never understood them so, you know, put your meaning here_____________. Thanks for posting this.

Great song. It's a great crank it up and strap on the air guitar song.
