Well, my agro phobia has bene really bad for the past six months, and the only time I go out is to the corner shop (which is 50 yrds away and safe!) and occasionally with my husband close beside me.
Anyway, tonight I went out on my own :o) I have a good email friend from a web site fo rpeople with BPD in the UK. She was in my area tonight so we arrnged to meet. And I went!!! I was sure I'd call off at the last minute, but managed to talk myself into going and am sooo proud of msyelf!!! We met at my local hospital (where she's been visiting a friend) and then went to a pub for a couple of drinks before she ahd to get her train home!!
But i did it!!!!! I went out and met a stranger!!!!
Woo hoo!!!

I find the first steps are the absolute hardest. I sure hope you did enjoy yourself - you didn't really say but I'm sure the elation is reward enough!
It'll get slowly easier. Don't panic over minor setbacks. We're all behind you, Nikki!!!
ROCK ON, GIRL!!!

Hey Nikki,
Let's see....
- you met someone new on the 'net
- you went out without help or prodding
- you met your new friend in person
- you went to *yet another location* with this new friendWow! Sounds like you're well on your way to getting through this. Most excellent.
Nikki, that's wonderful -- all of it. Definitely an accomplishment to be proud of.

That's a lot of risky stuff to do, even without the agorophobia. Congratulations. You did good.
