Life and Times

Update - I am off to my 7th of 8 ECT's tomorrow morning. The last three are bilateral and they seem to be more effective although accompanied by more massive headaches. I am off work. I have told most people what I am doing. Many 'friends' now give me a funny look . . .
Not you guys too . . .

Greg A. Your 'friends' must see the lightening amping off your head. :^) Don't mind me, I wish I could do ECT.
So you are working and out and about, so to speak, while having the treatments? That's great, I would think.
How's your..damn, what was I..oh, memory? How's your memory?
Write us when you can and I hope the ECT kicks the depressions hiney.

Phil

Greg A.--
We are the perfect group NOT to give you funny looks! My look would be along the lines of envious that you have a real chance to have a better (non-depressed) life.

As far as memory goes....well, I don't think I have a lot worth remembering, but I have a lot I'd love to forget. (that is sort of a joke)

Hope it goes really well.
Shar

ECT has affected my memory to the extent that i forgot I posted here . . . One more session to go on Monday. And then I visit with my pdoc and decide if any good has been done, or if something further is in order. One thing that is kind of messing me up is that i am switching meds. as well right now. The bilateral ECT has got me quite confused in some ways - mostly minor and annoying - but as I noted, I am doing the treatments as an outpatient so I get to be confused at home and among friends and family. I braved a visit to my office on Friday just to see what sort of reaction I got from 'friends and coworkers.' Everything was pretty much okay. A few uncomfortable silences and pauses while people reflected on what kind of questions were appropriate. Lots of people who didn't have a clue what ECT is . . . I do not plan to rush back to work just yet. I would like to feel I have made some real improvement before i plunge back into my day to day life. Will keep you posted. Any thoughts fellow recipients of ECT?
