my parents warned me of.
I wonder if its because of any of the things they said would ruin it?
I'm also kind of upset that just because I'm crazy doesn't mean I'm a genius or even an artist, bummer.

>Yeah, but if you're crazy ENOUGH, you can call yourself a genius warrior artist poet and people will believe it. This may take some behavioral art as well, to carry it off.

I'll need to work on it though. I'm saddled with a dreadfully flat affect. All I can ever manage is odd.

If you can make it as far as bitter *and* odd, you might be able to pull off Janeane Garofalo...

I'll have to work on bitter. I think I might be able to manage pouty. But that's not quite the same. :)

Why I think you're a genius for putting that spin on it Shar. Comical, and oh so true. Like the Simpsons! And also thanks for recommending "The Stone Child" to Tabitha
It sounds great, I'm going to have to buy it.
Or perhaps steal it. No I'll go to the library (sigh)

That's other people's job. I swear, if I have an unusually good day, someone will tell me I look like shit.
In the words of Peter Frampton...Never fails.

"Odd" is better than "weird" -- that's what I was, and still am according to most people I know. You know, it was kinda funny when I was released from the Resort and Country Club a little over 3 years ago. Everyone said something like "I KNEW it!"

The difference between weird and odd is merely one of attitude. :) I choose to be odd.
Come to think of it, MTV's Daria is one of my heroes and she's the epitome of flat affect. Perhaps I could manage that. I dress a bit like her too. My husband always says I am closest to Designing Women's Julia Sugarbaker in my verbal style. I wonder what a combination of Julia Sugarbaker and Daria would be like. Eeeek! I'm scaring myself.

Gabs girl, I think I know what you mean. Feels that way, anyhow.
> I wonder if its because of any of the things they said would ruin it?

what did your parents say would ruin your life? on what mine said ...
sex? no. drugs? if caffeine counts. losing faith in faith? it's only helped so far. wearing pants - c'mon, that can't be what's ruined my life!
> I'm also kind of upset that just because I'm crazy doesn't mean I'm a genius or even an artist, bummer.
>
>maybe just relish the oddity?
I think ... that my belief in my parents, and in their proclamation that I would ruin my life, is powerful enough to have driven me to ruin a lot of things so I could keep believing in my parents. if that makes any sense.
This is the end of the thread.
