I recently (a couple of days ago) found out about a cousin's death by alcohol and smoking crystal meth. So, for some weird reason I sum the death up in a sixtyish way:

Drop IN
Tune IN
Turn OFF

not trying to be morbid, but it IS scary.

Tabitha,
I'm not sure how the learned quoter would answer that question, but I do know it's very possible to be lonely while in the company of others. A sad example is loneliness in marriage.
