Phil:
I got wind of a post of yours on another board (I'm not able to post on it, so I never read that board), and I wanted to let you know that I'm not ignoring your posts. I just haven't had much to say--aside from what I post at Admin. And I certainly never expected either you or Shar to choose sides and leave the board. How would that help you?
I have a few personal reasons for posting little. (I sometimes can't resist Admin, as you may have noticed.) One is that I have a daughter who needs my attention. Another is that I have not found much on this board I'm interested in lately (and to those who would be upset by this, I'm sorry, but it's nothing against them any more that choosing "Frazier" over the other comedies on television is against "Everybody Loves Raymond").
Finally, I found out from my therapist that I am a fraud. That's right. I took a personality test a few months ago, and there is nothing wrong with me. He said I am 100% normal: no dysthymia, no low-grade depression, no anxiety, no ADD, no nothing. My only problems, he said, were that I am opinionated (duh!) and am prone, according to a comparison of all the people who answered the way I did, to depression. Otherwise, my insomnia has been a non-issue, and I am dealing with having been robbed in a very productive way.
Site administration has not been a problem on Social, and I stopped reading the Faith site when Lou returned. PB is done for me because I've been on the same meds for years. And PPB is also done, for the reasons above.
So, though I originally left in protest of Sandra Dee's block on PBA, it's hard to fight for what you think is right when you don't get a chance to say it.
Anyway, that's the whole poop. I really don't feel like I belong here, since my troubles seem so minor compared to others. I don't even feel like my advice is warranted.
I hope you understand.
Your pal,

Oh, you're one of us alright! : ) You do have a lot going on.
By the way, I had an allergy test done and they said I had no reactions. I asked them why, when molds are high, do I feel like I've had a lobotomy and a shot of phenobarbital(sp)? I don't need to check the weather, I can feel it.
They said, hey, it happens and gave me something to shoot up my nose. Cool story, huh? Allergens in Austin are running close to first in the nation. Pretty place but you pay a price. These folks that get cedar fever look like death when they don't have a Kleenex covering their face.
I hope you find something to stick around for when life kinda returns to normal. Believe me Beardy, you've got problems. : )

I'm sorry that all that caused you to want to leave. I also don't have any major problems (comparitively speaking). I am not bipolar, or ADD. I think I went through a very stressful time with buying a house (the waiting game on WHEN we could finally move in - two months after we bought it), and all this post partum as well. It just was too much for me a few months back. Now I think I am dealing with things better, so I am also withdrawing from PSB a bit. Just trying to be supportive when I can. You have been an influence here, and you don't have to be bipolar or have ADD to relate to some of the people here. I am glad you are still lurking. I also don't even read the med boards anymore, but I still enjoy social and admin. and faith (at least for the next 7 weeks). :)
Again, I'm sorry.

I think the only true preconditions for participation are that you abide by the ever changing and shifting rules, and that you pass the test that we had to take to register. If you like hanging around with us, no matter how aggravating that may sometimes be to you, no one is going to say that you shouldn't be here just because you don't have the proper credentials to be a mental health patient. Last time I checked no one asked us to produce a doctor's dx to get in. Much of what is discussed here afterall involves problems that we might have to face regardless of dx.

I know, I know. It's one of those weird ethics things. Know what I mean? Oh, of course you don't. You're a lawyer! Hahahahahahaha.
(I hope you took that in the jokey way it was meant. My sis and I were in a store and saw something called the Lawyer's Book of Ethics. I held it up and said, "Can you believe this has more than one page?" But silly me. I opened it, and the pages were all blank!)

I'm happy to hear you're busy with an active life and not too ensconsed in virtual reality.
I've appreciated your wisdom, your excellent advice on therapy, your wit, and even your well placed occasional anger when you've voiced something I'm too chicken to.
Just because it turns out you're sane ....
Well anyhow, take care of youself. I will miss your presence.

What happened when the robbers confronted Bearded Lady?
--- They scared the dickens out of her.

Oh, very funny, Kate. I like you too. I saw your name on Admin and wanted to post a hello or something, but it wasn't the time or place. Nice to see your name again.
(Actually, I think I scared the Dickens into those robbers!)
Take care,

Beardy,Because I have just returned to these boards after a long absence, I haven't had a chance to get to know you as I have known quite a few others. Personally, I like reading your perspective on different matters and I appreciate your depth of thought. I'd like it if you would stay.
Phil, I have posted a lot during 1999 and lurked in '98. You are one of the people who stand out when I think of posters who have enlightened me or seid something I needed to hear at that partiuclar time. I read on 2000 that you were considering leaving. (I can't find any of my posts for the 2000 year, so I can't join. Otherwise, I would have answered there). Please don't go. Your words have often had quite an effect on my thought process. At times, you can really anchor me as I lose track of living.
Thank you both for hanging around. Lots of times people don't appreciate people until they are missed. Don't go. Not just for the influence you have on me but for all the other people who count on you.MA
This is the end of the thread.
