When you actually water it.
Okay, so I was laying in the sun today, looking at our backyard lawn, thinking how nice it looks since I've been attending it - water, new grass seed, etc. and I was pondering that whole "grass is greener" cliche. And it popped in my empty blonde head that I needed to post about it.
Anyhow... And then I kept thinking about that phrase, and the little twist on it... that's exactly what I need to do in my life. My life would be a little better if I took more time for myself and put a little effort into ME. Hard to do when you have two little ones and a hubby to worry about, but I really am going to make an effort to focus a little more on myself. A forgotten thing these days. Hope you all do a little something for yourselves this week (everyday, in fact). Be well. -me

Oh, please tell me that you're related to the blonde Sandra Dee of former Hollywood fame! She was so darn cute. Of course, she used to lay on the beach sand instead of green grass, but I'll bet she treated herself well.

When you water it!
Thank you SandraDee for this wonderful twist on an old familiar saying! I have to share with you all that I discovered this website today when I was feeling particulary alone and needing emotional support. So, I typed in the words "serious shit" in my search window. Dr. Bob's web site came up and I am so glad I found this web site. TRUE STORY!
I have been through so much @#%&!* that somedays I don't know what to do with all my negative thinking.... Your quote "hit the spot" for me today. Do you mind if I swipe it for my new mantra?
"The grass is greener... when you water it"
love,

I'm sure I'm not the first one to think of it or to say it. I'm sorry you've been having rough times, you definately found the right place.
Hope you stick around, and give a shout out when you need to.
Take care of yourself... a bubble bath or something, amazing how when you don't do anything for yourself it really adds up. Even painting toes! (Okay, maybe not for Ted and Bobby - although Bobby would end up doing them in tropical colors.) God Bless, and be well.

SandraDee - It doesn't matter to me who coined the phrase originally - you said it when I needed it and that's what counts!
I am not the type to paint my toenails, however, your idea of using tropical colors sounds like so much fun! I think I just my try that - another creative way to "water my grass"! Thanks again.
Also thanks for the warm welcome to the group! Now, just who are Ted and Bobby? haha ... Have a great day.

I feel honored to become a member of such a supportive and open group of human beings. I hope we can connect in a way that is mutually nurturing as each of us moves along on our individual journeys in life - seeking meaning and peace of mind...and just maybe a bit of joy in the process too!
This is the end of the thread.
