Before I left for vacation, I called my wireless phone company to see if the thieves made any calls from my cell between the time they stole it and the time I turned it off. (I had to wait 48 hours.) Indeed, they had made two. I called and gave them to an officer, I e-mailed the numbers to someone in charge of the station, and I e-mailed my entire neighborhood list (including the mayor), telling them all what I'd done. That way, my buds could raise hell if the case died.
I called the cops the first two days I was away to get an update on the case. Soon, they were calling me each night at 9:00 with an update.
From those numbers, the cops found the two a**holes and arrested them.
That's an itty bit of good news. Unless something goes dreadfully wrong, they should get an automatic five years for using a gun in the commission of a crime. Of course, this is America, so we can count on mandatory being reduced to time served.

THANK GOD!!!!! I can't imagine the fear you had, well actually I can, I've been the victim of a crime but I"m sooooo happy for you that they are caught. Let's hope they get the full 5 years. I hope you will see this through to the very end. I don't know how it works where you live, but here in Canada you can go to court and submit a 'victim impact statement' which has a great bearing on the sentencing. Your voice can be heard as it should.
I hope you were able to enjoy your vacation and welcome back!!! I missed your posts.

Good for you detective beardSee, two wrongs do make a right!
1. They were wrong to f*ck with you in the first place
2. And morons for using your phone
Though I have alot of issues with the criminal justice system, for your peace of mind, I hope they do their full sentence. . .

Beadedlady,
I am glad to see that you have returned. I have been reading about some shark attacks and the sighting of a giant octopus near where you were on the beach. Was that near where you were?

Agent beardy strikes again. Glad you are back from vacation, it hasn't been the same here.
Reminds me of a story I heard about a guy robbing a bank: he wrote the 'give me all your money' note on the back of his monthly pay stub.... the police just read his name and address off it and picked him up there later.

Excellent! Thanks for letting us know. Hope they have a horrible time in jail and think twice before trying it again...

No. They were 14, so they went to juvenile.
