..made myself wake up at 2:20 am (set the alarm), that's when it was on here. Much more civilized hour in England.
And England f___in' LOST!!!! Arghhh!!! Even with Brazil down a man! I am partial to England, married a Brit, been in love with several of the English persuasion... So I was really hoping Eng would win, though I love the Brazilians I've met in the past, and their team performed much better this morning. And now in a few hours (7:30 am) America is playing Germany, will sleep for another 3 hrs, and then get up again...
I love soccer (used to play a lot), and the World Cup especially... Remember in '86 when Argentina's Maradonna 'punched' the ball into the goal to win? England were nuts over it, horrible way to lose, the ref didn't call it...
sleepily yours, sorry England lost,
Wendy

I just got into work late because I got sucked into watching the US-Germany game. The US had so many chances.... First England, now the US. Shucks.

I KNOW! I feel horrible. The U.S. played a better game! Absolutely. But the Germans are tough, and their goalie is phenomenal. But it just seemed the Americans couldn't get a "foot" on it, you know, boot it really hard into the goal area. But they had more possession and more shots on goal than the Germans... so I was disappointed. Oh well, I was a good fan, and they did do better than they have in 72 years at the World Cup...Glad to see you're getting in the "important" stuff, Mair, like moi,
W.
