Dee Dee Ramone, 49, died last night of an accidental drug overdose. His wife found him. Dee Dee was my favorite Ramone (even though the original Johnny and I share a birthday). I'm going now to dig up the photo I took of him backstage in 1979, when The Ramones opened for Iggy Pop.

I wrote a post earlier, and as I was posting it the computer decided to announce that I did something illegal.

I'm sorry to hear of your loss. I'm not familiar with the name, but I'm not good with names in general. I can recall when Elvis died and Lennon was shot. I understood that they were two performers that would be missed, but I didn't feel real grief at their passings.

Now for some reason, when Roy Orbison passed away tears came to my eyes. I still recall where I was in the car when the radio broadcasted his death. With time the grief quickly passed and in my mind he still is alive through his music. Hopefully you'll be able to enjoy your star the same way!

BEST WISHES
Willow
