Hello... I just stumbled across this page while doing research for school, and I decided to join... So, Hi!
So, about me... I'm a 16 year old male, and I have a mild case of bipolar (for which I am taking effexor). I like reading and playing music (trombone). Well, that's me... so, um, nice to meetch'all. :)

Hello Thornbird !
There are different boards here, so hang around... there's a lot to share, to learn, and to discuss. Hope you'll have fun with us.I'm 34, I am a university professor, and I also take Effexor XR, for dysthymia. I enjoy yoga, jazz music (I used to play saxophone), and philology (the history and evolution of languages). I also love math, which I use daily in my work.
There are people of all ages around here, so stick around and talk to us whenever you feel like it.

We're all a great bunch - lots to read & join in. Lots to support each other during bad spells & sometimes we're even very funny. Welcome!

Someone was throwing together an orchestra recently. Welcome, Thornbird, you're 1st chair trombone. We will get your uniform and Effexor decal for your trombone. I play drums; I'm sponsored by Adderall XR. Got a huge Adderall XR capsule on my front bass drum head. Too cool.
French horn is sponsored by the French drug, Adrafanil. Paxil got the sax, "Once you listen to that jazzy saxophone it's almost impossible to stop."
Hey, have you done your homework?Phil

I think you will have seen what IsoM meant by the humour by now...!
The whole range of posting goes on here, from serious stuff to the zaney stuff. Hope you'll feel free to join in,whenever. I know I've found it great to 'talk' to others about living with/coping with a range of problems. As well as a good laugh at times!

Thornbird Welcome, welcome
I have absolutely no musical talent. So you may notice I'm usually the cheering section. My favourite song is "Amazing Grace" and children plus others always tell me to stop if I get the notion to sing. I do like to make attempts at dancing though, so watch your toes.
16, oh how I envy you your youth! Please feel free to share what you like with us. Today I saw a pair of ducks which looked like loons, but I'm not sure if they were because the males head was white. First time I've seen this type. A crane flew overhead and a groundhog was perched on top of a rock cropping.
I usually end up sharing too much.
WELCOME

This place definitely could use the teenage point of view. We had a pretty active teenage poster for awhile who left a few months ago. She is sorely missed, at least by me. Are you a junior or sophomore? I'm assuming that at 16, you're one or the other.

In reply to Viagra got violin-Concerta sponsers the concert (nm) » mair, posted by Phil on May 17, 2002, at 11:51:49
I think the violins deserve better than viagra. They're much more likely to be hyperactive, than to have trouble reaching those higher registers. How about Concerta for the cellos and celexa for the clarinets? Also, klonopin for the kettle drums who could surely use some calming.

PS I still think the melodious violins should get concerta. How about viagra for the violas?

The sponsors aren't picked for their melodic names; they're picked because the players of said instruments are using that particular drug to make them feel better! So if I am feeling good enough to sing, for example, it's thanks to Serzone and Sonata. Though the other idea is nice, we can only get the pharmaceutical companies that own our meds to pay our travel and hotel accomodations when PSB Band goes on tour. (And we have to wear the t-shirt, I hear.)
(Concerta and Sonata are certainly lovely names, though.)

P.S. If you don't like these arrangements, you'll have to talk to our agent, Ron Hill (sponsored by SAMe).

Hi and welcome to the World O' Babblers :-)
I hope you find it helpful, and stick around for a long time.
By the way-I'm kiddo, diagnosed with enough disorders to fill a notebook, and a twisted sense of humor (in case you haven't picked up on that).
Anyway, just wanted to say hello, thanks for introducing yourself, and welcome to the group.
