Okay, children are out. Hopefully for the night. I like John's answer, but mine is better. Boy, am I high on something?

B thru to E, they all provide a service for an individual, (even a corportate lawyer is serving a corporation, which has share holders.) Now a scientist is working for a larger entity. Perhaps to satisfy his own thirst for knowledge. He's working with unknowns. I could ramble on with my reasons. But for myself, I know I'm right. Some one would have to give me a fairly good arguement to persuade me otherwise.

Willow;
Your answer also satisfies the criteria and is correct in respect to that. But, a rocket scientist could be workong for an individual.
The original rocket scientists were Nazis. When their regime was being closed in on by the Russians and the US and Britian, they chose to surrender to us rather than the Russians. But they worked to satisfy a person, Hitler.
Since you gave a great answer, I am wondering if you can create a quiz of your own without the flaw that I had in mine and monitor it yourself, tonight?
Thanks,
Lou

Now you can't convince me that "Hitler" was an individual. There was a government behind the man, and governments have agendas.

I thought of the same thing (about the service).

My other answer was the accountant on the premise that
all the others may require graduate studies (Ok, technically
the Rocket Scientist may only have a BS in engineering, but
probably he has a Phd).

When I first looked at the list, the immediate answer that popped into my mind was lawyer, but a reason didn't follow as quickly. Thanks for giving me one!!

Now for the bed thing, my bed is big and I sleep with lots of pillows and blankies, so if anyone technically wanted to join me they could.

Zo,
I messed that one up by not considering Ella's observation. If we rule out those type of observations, then Ella's answer is incorrect. However, she is correct and so were some others for the same reasoning. thearfore, the Quiz is faulted and we must do another one. Could you make up one amd chair it tonight without the same fault?

at times, you're amazing. you are persistant and have a good intellect (is that grammatically correct?).

and, again, your best posts are sans "gates". :)

I was taught, as a child in a born again family, that being a missionary for Christ was not necessary (this can also be found in the Scriptures). That others would see how happy you were, how peaceful, and come to you. And then you would have a great opportunity to explain it to them. (Of course, this doesn't work with my parents because my Dad has major depression he's never addressed). But I have seen this in other Evangelicals, in Catholics, Jews, Buddhists... in many who have Faith.

Leave the "gates" out of it for awhile, Lou, and just be part of the community. Just mho.

1) The rest use mathematics on a daily basis in the course of their work (Lawyers use accountants to bill people, so you can't get around it that way).

2) The rest are considered sciences when taught in Universities, while law is in the Arts Faculty.

This would be a very good answer for it rightly devides the facts about the different occupations and training for such.
But how would you commment on Barry Scheck and his partner, Peter in thir dismembering of the prosecutions statistics expert for 8 hours to cast doubt upon the DNA evidence against O.J.? They used a lot of math in their cross examination of the statistical expert.

Accountant doesn't belong. All the other occupations listed are doctors, but you don't need a doctorate to be an accountant.

Do you really think Schenck came up with the stats he used on his own; or to be extremely accurate for the sake of getting a murderer frees, would he have used competent (if not hypocritical) experts in statistics?

T-bird,
You gave a great answer that satisfies the requirerments. I made this question up and it had many flaws. The idea is to devise the answers so that one and only one answer can be deduced. Perhaps you can make up one of your own and chair it this evening?

Cam W,
The witness for the prosecution was a PHd from a college in N.Carolina in statistics. The defense showed that the expert made erros. Now I believe that Scheck and Pete did their homework and must have known advanced statistics on their own . I tried to follow the cross examination and got lost after the first 20 minuets. Scheck and Pete were great, but O.J.was aquitted because, ugh, he was INNOCENT.
