The Prodigal Bob (not Dr.) has returned ... I hope

Posted by finelinebob on January 10, 2002, at 11:07:54

Hey Noa, CamW! Any other fellow "old fogeys" still around?

Just wanted to say hi to all y'all ... used to be just plain ol' "bob" here months and months ago but fell out of the habit of Babblizing. Serious major depressive episode, which brings the ostrich out in me. Can't say I'm out of the woods, but at least I have a bit more perspective and more of my head together now compared to then.

Cheers,
bob

Hey Bob! Welcome back!

I wondered what happened to you; I'd thought I had scared you away (or pissed you off). I still remember your last post, back when I was still more of an antagonistic sort.

You did miss some fun, but hey, it's nice to have a "voice of reason" back.

Hey!! I saw you in the previous thread and your new name is great cuz I knew it was you!!

Glad to see you again. I look forward to reading your witty and charming and meaningful posts.

Sorry you had such a rough time. Sounds like you are feeling somewhat better?

Geez, things move fast around here now ... and Cam said he *used* to be more of an antagonist! Hope he comes back....

Noa, yeah, "somewhat better" puts it rather well. It was a pretty rough year in terms of life events, but the grace of strangers, a new puppy and discovering acupuncture (on top of having a really really good therapist) has helped pull me through it.

... and I *still* need to get to those email messages of yours, Deb!

Hey Phil ... good to see you're still here too ... don't know if I'm quite out of the bunker yet, but time to get my butt in gear anyway. Especially since (1) my web site is going to be featured in a C|Net story (yikes! time to do some "housecleaning") and (2) I finally got some employment ... not permanent, but long-term temp at a livable wage. Too bad for my puppy, tho -- she's going to have to learn to make it through the day without me .... ;^)

Hey Bob, Can you let me know about your CNet deal when it happens? I'll supply my email if you want.

Sure ... I'll just post it here. Seems like the second wave of examination/introspection/investigation is hitting us now. Got an email yesterday from a government researcher whose group is studying how the fires at the WTC progressed and how they contributed to the collapse of the buildings. He wanted copies of my original photos (no cropping, lower compression, higher resolution, time/date stamps) -- photographic records are about all they have to work from right now, and he wrote to me because he "had to start somewhere." I hope they help....
