Hello,
I am planning a short trip away because things have been difficult recently. I am currently taking Fluvoxamine and also Clonazepam on a PRN basis(half tab because of the Fluvoxamine)
My concern is about carrying prescription medications, particularly the Clonazepam through customs and carrying the medication in the country. Of course the usual recommended advice is that you take the medication in the container it was originally dispensed in, a letter from your physician and the prescription for the medication.
However each country has their own rules and regulations. My preliminary research has indicated that you should contact your host missionary for the country you are travelling to. As a British Citizen that would mean visiting the website:
http://www.fco.gov.uk/directory/posts.asp
I have two questions:
1)Is this the usual means of finding out about the rules, regulations and precautions of travelling with medications to foreign countries and if it is not what other bodies can I contact.
2)In certain 'risk' countries i.e. Thailand, where even if you were to take all the precautions necessary is there still an element of risk.
Dr-Bob, your input would be appreciated too
Thanks for your advice

Paul - for what it's worth, I've traveled in and out of the US carrying both Wellbutrin and Clonazapam. I think I probably carried it in the prescription containers, but I certainly never had the scrip or a letter from my doc.

I have found an excellent resource for carrying meds at Home depot...tool boxes...
They also have dollies there...
Or a pet carrier, make sure there are air holes..
Sorry, I just could see you going through customs...yes, sir and what are you carrying?
