Dreamer.....Mood stabilizer?

Posted by Shar on July 11, 2001, at 0:32:58

Dreamer,
I am aware from what you said earlier you are dx BP II. I am wondering if you are on a mood stabilizer? Or....what meds are you on, if any?

D,
as you know I am another self diagnosed BPII thnks to the NHS. my next pdoc apointment sept! and this following a suicide attempt!! (just to give the us an example of uk care, NHS good as free therefore ethicly better for MH issues as poor tend to be more in need).
anyways. My experiance with SSRI's has been bad, I have always felt my crazyest on them. Its a cycle
1st-therapy, good but no bannanas
2nd-try drugs 2 help therapy
3rd-Great, bad, gbgbgbgbgbgbgbg arrrh
4th-something suicidal
5th-manic what the hell do I need therapy 4?
if I do this, TTTTTTT then everything fine!
6th-faliure, return to 1st command line.

desided 2 Ban(nanas)SSRI's this time (also on FXR) demanded Depakote (UK epilim). started 600 mg day. 3 weeks later. now depressed, cycling once every 3 days or so (as opposed to hours, sometimes). Overall, betterish. think more Epilim will help. more like pebble in stream than rock falling off cliff (still immobile).
I dont want to overly push this case, we are all v.different. but reseach I have read suggests SSRI;s bad with BPII. personaly they are probably right- so far.
bannanas

Howdee doodee diddly dee.Hope life's sparkling and wonderous for thee.
My doc who always asks if I'm eating well~got appetite of a gnat lately keep rescuing legs from plughole, says I'm ok cause my speech isn't fast and do'nt all artists crash.? Well she's refered me again cause I took initiative with meds .
But I'M feeling normalish now and brain not so sharp heres hoping I'll climb that tree although shakey again soon. S o I don't fit bi-polar crap' and use no substances of abuse though booze sometimes whispers in background.

Question hairy- Have you ever been straight by that I mean 2 weeks without booze meds or other devices. I remember I was a strange medfree little girl up till 15 but still a complete mood nightmare, sometimes think about stopping meds just to see how I really am . Do 'they' still give you straight jackets.
