Sigi??
Anybody??
How could it be that meth supply was not disrupted during the CoronaVirus epidemic?
There was something about it being disrupted to the South Island. E.g., Christchurch. Because of lack of internal transport... But not entirely stopped because of... Food supply trucks, I suppose...
But not disrupted from overseas to Auckland harbor. HOw? Why not?
Large shipments infrequently?
Hmm.

Or is this just what they want people to believe so they can see how people will behave, now, under increased levels of surveillance??
There was something in the news the other day about a GP who 'accidentally' ate deathcaps. In other words: Magic Mushroom: FAIL.
Ahahahahah ahaha haha ha. ha. ha.
Nobody eats deathcaps (or blue beanies) accidentally. They DO NOT taste good. nom nom nom -- NOT. They DO NOT taste good. And neither do they look good. Look good to eat: they do NOT. I repeat: Nobody ACCIDENTALLY eats that sh*t. Really. NOt once you are more than, like, 3 years old. For reallys.

But yeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeees it's magic mushie season and yeeeeeeeeeeeees one could co magic mushie hunting now, with the reduced levels of 'stay home' directive.
Only..
I've been there: Done that.
I would think that would be why it would be a good idea to have graduate entry to professional practice programs. So people can live life a little and experience some of these higher risk and not particularly professional things...
Before settling down, in some sense, into professional career.
Nobody is going to begrudge people for trying different things when they are in college. Out of their parents bubble. BEFORE professional practice degree admissions.
But not AFTER.
Nobody looks well or good or kindly on the pharmacist who experiments with illicit substances.
And so on...
That's kind of, uh, why it's important not to pick kids.
And why they should get to live a little and figure out what is most important to them.

ah. yeeeeees it's coming in in large shipments of various forms requiring processing on arrival. so little disruption to supply chain if harbors are closed for a bit.

and, like, ditto for police and sh*t like that.
don't accept recruits until they are a certain age...
then they have opportunities to try whatever illicit substances they may be tempted by etc etc etc... get all that out of their system... BEFORE they are selected.
and once they are accepted: why then their behavior is required to be above reproach in that respect.
seems to me to be sensible.

>Sigi??
The use of this drug was proven in WWII. The unit dose was 3mg.
There's a book called 'The Narrow Road to the Deep North' and in it a Japanese officer in Burma is explaining to a subordinate before a long day's work. 'Get me some meth (obviously not the word used.) This is not a drug. Only Europeans, Indians, Chinese and inferior races use drugs.'

I've not heard of them.
You don't mean blue meanies (psiloscybe mexicana)?

Remember that song 'Reasons to be Cheerful, Part Three'?
Ian Drury and the Blockheads?
With these strong networks, Police and Customs are becoming increasingly successful at disrupting the supply of illicit drugs into this country and holding those who profit from importation to account.
We believe this is the first time a consignment of t-boc methamphetamine has been intercepted in New Zealand, and we rely on our strong partnerships both at home and overseas to stay abreast of the changing trends in the illicit trade in drugs. says Mr Lynch.

Beanies... I think I might be thinking of an Eminem album artwork.
Meanines... Okay. Sure. Probably that... I really did think it was blue beanies. Mushrooms with beanines on. Yeah.
Those.
Nobody eats those accidentally.
I mean...
You eat field mushrooms because they might be good. They grow in airy bright fields of daisies and daffodils... They likely grow on cow-sh*t, truth be told... But, you know, once it's been all air dried and sun-steralised. Mushrooms that are... You know.. Healthy seeming. Good to eat.
You don't see mushrooms growing on rotting logs... Growing on rotting bark... Growing in swampy regions of soil... As being particularly appetising. You see them as being part of the kidneys or bowels of the ecosystem, as they are. Filtering... Metabolising... Toxic sh*t and waste that will likely make you sick.
Nobody eats mushrooms that grow in those kinds of conditions because it just seems all off the cuff like a nutitious or healthy or good idea.
Without your knowing in advance about the psychedelic effects -- I mean.
And nobody eats death caps for fun. The Canberra Governmetn used to have pictures up all over the place about deathcaps. In the botanic gardens (where magic mushies also grow). To help people differentaiate between magic mushies and death caps. It was like 'see these death caps growing in a ring around a tree because they are circling it underground before they kill it entirely'... Magic mushies don't grow like that...
To help the people see...
Nobody eats death caps because they seem like a tasty good idea, either.
The ones I'm not sure about are the large red ones with white spots on them. I heard .... Just a random rumor.. I heard... That if you scrape the white spots off them and spot them off al foil (like mj oil, you know) then you may get high.
Or... They may kill you. Don't know. Kind of curious (academically only) to be honest.

Well, I know I am stupid (and / or unsophisticated) when it comes to these things...
But these are the only mushies I knew of. I meant to say that I could reliably identify:
https://www.facebook.com/psychedelichunters/
They grow on rotting wood / in swamps. They taste like the rotting wood they grow on. Soil. Earthy. Nobody would eat them accidentally / for fun / because they look delicious. Because they aren't delicious. Not at all.
Don't get me wrong - I am sure they are more delicious than eating the urine of someone else who ate them first. But probably not muchly so.

And worms...
I remember one year we found this glade... By the banks of the Mighty Waikat River... This glade... The river had clearly flooded for a time and then the banks receeded. And down this very steep hilly slope from the path there was this glade. And there was grass - just like that. That snake-root grass that you usually see growing in sandy soil by the beach.
And through the grass there was this glade of mushies. And me must have picked maybe 500 mushies that day out of that glade. Not any bigger than my little finger with heads not much bigger than the stalks... But with the stalks standing proud amonst the grass -- rather than mostly being buried in peaty soil...
And I remember drying them on newspaper in my house..
We weren't really sure what to do with them. So we thought to dry them out and then freeze them in bags of 10 or 20 or so. I forget. We used to boil them into water and use the water to make tea. It tasted awful. Cheap tea and lots of sugar. Tasted awful. Didn't taste mushroomy... I don't think adding them to creame of mushroom soup would have helped them to go down at all...
But maybe it would have. Maybe I was caught in a fitness trap of ritual / habit.
Seems likely...
The same crew used to bleed poppies when they were wet... I didn't know about drying the heads...
Opportunistic rather than organised.
Or maybe that's the simple (peripheral) level that i was exposed to. Basically decent guys. Recreating. Around the periphery. Away from the organised element / aspet to the situation. Maybe likely. I did get a sense that there was a more serious element going on some of the time. I didn't see mjuch of it. So maybe that was that.

But tiny little worms... Yeah. When they were drying on the newspaper. After a day or two when they started to dry out. Tiny little worms. Writhing around on the newspaper.
Gross.

You know, I had 2 friends and they were really very very dear to me, indeed.
Both of them were really sweet guys. One of them wasn't much of a looker -- and likely that counted against him in life. But he was a decent guy. He told me that he went to anger management because he had a problem with anger at some point in his life... But the time I knew him I never ever saw him lash out at anybody at all. Once I accidentally dropped a bit of 4x2 on his head rather hard in a mis-communication and he pulled a face and stopped. And I apologised profusely. And he stopped. And pulled a face. And he didn't lash out at me at all...
And he was a bit older than me. I can't remember how much. We used to listen to pink floyd. He was into music. Decent speakers. Surround sound. So listening to pink floyd... Getting high and just... Feeling good. And he had some decent friends, too. Again, decent guys. One lived with his mother, I remember. With his parents, still. And they grew poppies. Lots of them. In a low key way... ANd yeah, well, there's that.
And something about he used to work the boiler room on steam engine trains. But they aren't steam anymore so... So he worked out at a sawmill for a bit. Minding the boiler... And that paid well. And he could spend a shift (all hours) out there minding the boiler... People can come out. Party. By the boiler. He just neede to make sure it was stoked and no problem. Right? No problem.
And another guy who was a really nice guy. I think he had fetal alcohol syndrome. Effects. Spectrum. Something. Not book smart. But genuinely nice guy. Until alcohol was in his system. Then not nice guy. Violent. Beliggerent. Like his Dad, apparently. So... I met him in some kind of AA or NA rehab meeting things. He was trying to stay sober. He was a terrific guy when sober. He was a terrific guy when stoned. We used to get high a lot. He was kind and decent and a nice guy. Just needed to lay off the alcohol.
And I think he was actually fairly involved with a gang. I think he used to work for them. Pretty low level stuff-- but a reliable worker for them. So.. To have enough to feed his baseline.. His daily need. His weekly need... He used to work for them. Doing cooks or selling or whatever. ANd then sometimes they would give him a bit extra or he could take a bit extra from the work or whatever.
ANd we would just hang out and listen to music. Or drive around the country seeing the scenery listening to music. Or hang out... Talk... Go for walks... Enjoy the sccenery. Just hang out. And everyone was feeling good and happy and just enjoying life and everyones company.
And we didn't stress each other out. He had a girlfriend who likely wanted to marry him... A couple kids.. Stresses there.. They wanted more time with him. They wanted him to quit all the drugs. They wanted him to move in with them. They wanted money for school clothes and various things... ANd I met her sometimes. And I met his kids sometimes. And I felt bad. For them.
And I felt bad for him that these people stressed him out.
And I felt bad for them. That he would rather hang with his 'mates' and likely spend whatever money he did have on drugs for them than on his family etc...
But I tried not to dwell on it for too long...
He started drinking near the end of the time I knew him. That was scary. Drink driving. Dangerous. He'd put himself in a ditch numerous occasions. I remembe rhaving to grab the wheel to prevent accidents. Him drinking actually while or during driving and not amenable at all to stopping that. Screaming at me to get out of the car (like 6 hours from home) if I dind't like it. He started to be a lot more unpleasant to be around. I started to feel unsafe. Like he might hit me. Near the end of the time that I knew him.
I remember helping him with a couple cooks. I guess because he thought they were relatively safe. So... More family environments, really. Than gang pads I mean. So doing those... And the people were all fine. Hung out. Friendly. Repectful. No problems.
But then something went down and they wanted him to say that some stuff they found was his and not theirs... But he'd been in trouble for that stuff before so he ran away to avoid prison time.
So we didn't see him for like 6 months because he thought he would get the bash for not going to jail....
Oh dear.
And farming. Dairy farming. where you get a house because you have to milk the cows at 6am. So, again, it's a party house where you can party constantly -- just so long as the cows get milked 2x a day nobody gives a sh*t.
And I guess I have varsity going on... And i had my schedule. When I needed to be writing things. Studying things. For deadlines. And then downtimes. And I guess they would stop by and we'd have a smoke sometimes near the end of the day... And they knew when I had a day or two or three... And sometimes they'd turn up then with more and we'd hang out for longer. And I guess everyone just hung out and had laughs and felt good for a while. But it was opportunistic, really.
And likely the mushies that we found 1 Saturday... Was the spot where he was back to every morning for the gangs for the rest of the season... To swap it for LSD or mj or whatever else... And likely the popppies were processed more properly, too. I'm sure.
And walks we did... Just to check that periperhal trails were relatively untouched.

They look like blue meanies, which I take to be psicoscybe mexicana.
Then there is the more reliable psiloscybe cubensis which always grown in cowshit, although that might have half dissolved into soil.
Shelf mushrooms, like Rei Shi, grow on or out from wood.
There is a knowledgeable mycelium person on youtube called Paul Stammets.

Yes. That's the only one that I know. It makes sense that there are different types / varieties, though. Perhaps others are more palatable.

Then I found the gym.
I joined the gym and quit smoking (the first time) at the same time.
Quitting smoking was really really really really really really hard. I used to smoke rollies and I would roll them fairly small but have one about every 20 minute (unless I had an hour long class, or something).
It meant that cravings for cigarettes were pretty constant / intense. For... Months, honestly.
The only time I wasn't craving a cigarette was when I was at the gym. New habit. Also feeling out of breath or muscle burn or whatever simply took my mind off of cigarettes.
So... Fairly easy for me to get hooked on the gym. How the gym made me feel.
Then, a couple months in I got pretty sick. From the crap being coughed up out of my airways, I think. Maybe a new variety of Staphylococcus Aureus. Maybe a bit of both.
Pseudoephedrine helped the gym, then. I think. I learned to focus / zone a bit on the elliptical. Then later, I sort of kept the ability to find that from within myself without the cold and flu tablets.
This is the end of the thread.
