it seems that during the bush administration there were a lot of posters, but now there is more tranquility.

Actually, there is less tranquility. I think there are just less posters now.

What was it that was said about Soviet society? That the government attacked it for 70 years and eventually the government won.

People need somewhere to turn.

Australia at least has a centrist slightly left party.

I put my (small) hope in young people realising what has happened and doing something about it.

I put hope in women having greater control over their bodies / reproduction.

Not all, but a lot more women would choose to have less babies, if they actually had more power to determine the way that goes.

As women become more educated and have greater employment chances themselves. As women are given increased opportunity to pursue their lives goals in teh arts and in sports and in socialisation...

And in this way the birth rate will fall...

And with less babies / infants / children and so on...

We will learn to take better care of the kids we've got.

And they will be less likely to grow up desiring things that seriously harm others.

I think that's the way of it.

Less people...

Taking better care of teh people we've got.

Humans lives are too cheap at the moment. Next to no investment in them... Can't really expect them to grow up to contribute back positively when not much was positively invested in them.

Or their lives were over-controlled by others living vicariously...

I don't know.

I keep hoping things will get better.

But things don't seem to be getting better, at all. I dare say, things are getting worse.

For more of us.

For a greater proportion of us.

Maybe I'm misguided?

I really don't think so.

you are just always going to get people who decide that their lifes goal is going to be to interfere with, mess with, upset all and everything they can around them. They decide that's fun for them.

and so the people around them are prevented from pursuing their lifes goals and so on.

and the cost of policing the psychopaths...

and psychopathy is on the increase. because it's generally the altruistic ones who decide that they simply don't want to play this awful game called life, anymore. it's just not fun for them.

it's just so f*ck*ng tiresome to police the psychopaths and to interact with cheaters and defectors...

to constantly watch your back...

to interact with people who are only nice or good or honest insofar as it serves their own ends where those people will turn on you if they perceive that that is to their advantage.

it's just...

so f*ck*ng tiresome.

can't get anything much done scanning the horizon for vultures...

It's the psychopaths who are policing us, isn't it?

They are certainly prominent in parliament.

yes.

they keep the prisons full of those who weren't given an alternative way of life (people who needed to steal and join gangs because they didn't have enough to meet their basic needs and didn't have meaningful employment by lawful means).

they keep the prisons full of those...

so there is no room for them.

nobody thinks the blue or white collar criminal who diverts 10 or 12 or 20 times the income of most everybody else... nobody thinks that blue or white collar criminal deserves to be in jail.

they came by their income by *lawful means*.

say the people who write the laws.

the laws for the good of...

uh...

who,

again?

The night before last a new senator said this in his maiden speech.......

Finally, it should go without saying that, as a nation, we are entitled to require that those who come here not only have useful work skills and qualifications but also the commitment to work and pay taxes. In truth, it appears that many of those who claim to be asylum seekers are actually just welfare seekers who only come to Australia to live on welfare in public housing at the expense of working Australians. In the days of Menzies, immigrants arriving here were not allowed to apply for welfare and that attracted exactly the right sort of hard-working people this country needed. We should go back to that and ban all immigrants receiving welfare for the first five years after they arrive. The final solution to the immigration problem is, of course, a popular vote.

(He couldn't have written it himself. There is a lot about Gramsci and 'cultural Marxism' in it. CM sounds like a justification for right wing class war too me.)

'The final solution' was a bridge too far for just about everyone and universal motions of condemnation or something were passed by both houses.

The upside is that Turnbull and Dutton will not be able to get away with race baiting ('Sudanese youth gangs', 'Muslim terrorism') to win the Victorian and Federal elections. They will have to think of something else.

how do these idiots get to be in charge, again?

Aw... Well... I actually feel slightly sympathetic to idea of a Space Force.

I mean... Like how people work really hard to get to be Navy Seals or whatever elite forces...

It's a kind of... Athletics.

What is it, like a special branch of the Air Force?

Taking out enemy satillites and stuff, sure.

Trying to hold people accountable for dumping Space Junk.

But, yeah, I take his point about priorities... And lack of drinking water and so on.

It's really hard not to get excited about Space Force.

But, yeah...

I get similarly ranty about how much chief executives and people on boards and councils get paid.

all that data.
